Corpus Christi Has Gluten-Free Hosts

For those who wish to receive Gluten-Free hosts at Communion, we have them available at all Masses. To receive them, please come down the center aisle at the end of Communion and indicate to the Eucharistic Minister that you need the Gluten-Free host.

We welcome all who are visiting our Corpus Christi Faith Community for the first time or are frequent visitors. We are hon-ored by your presence. If we can be of service to you, please do not hesitate to call on us. If you would like to become a member of our Parish, please com-plete one of the Registration forms located in the Parish Office, at the Community Center Bulletin Board, or on our website at www.cccctucson.org

Please remember to let the Parish Office know when you are on campus during business hours. Thank you.

Mass Intentions are Available

If you would like to schedule a weekday Mass for your loved one(s), or have a special intention, please contact the Parish Office.

The introduction to the Good Samaritan always brings me back to English class and the dreaded 5-page essay. I know I’m not the only one that tried to manipulate that paper by using larger fonts, adding multiple footnotes, changing line spacing, and moving in the margins to turn that 3-page paper into 5 (or 4 ½, which rounds up to 5). It was always a case of “What’s the minimum effort I can get away with and still call this thing a 5-page paper?” That seems to be the Scholar’s attitude with his qualifying question, “And who is my neighbor?” What’s the limit, the bare minimum, on my love and still have eternal life? As disciples we can phrase that question in other ways. What’s the least I can do and still call myself a disciple? How far beyond my comfort level does Jesus expect me to go? When and where do I have to be a bearer of peace and joy? How often do I need to be merciful? Or patient, or kind, or forgiving, or under-standing, or selfless, or compassionate, or… It always feels like the answer of Jesus is “You know the answer already.” Yeah, we do know the answer. There is no minimum on discipleship. And Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

CORPUS CHRISTI WELCOMES9

Newly Registered Parishioners:

Mark & Polly DeGrofft

Welcome to Our Faith Community!

Next weekend we will take the collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). This collection is taken every three years to fund their annual operating budget. They receive no funding from the US Government or Armed Services, and have no parishes for weekly in-pew collections. The AMS provides a full range of pastoral services to all serving in the US Armed Services; enrolled in US Military Academies; undergoing treatment at any of the 153 VA Medical Centers; working in civilian jobs for the federal government beyond US borders and for the families of these popula-tions. Envelopes are available in the pews for your convenience.

Registered Households: 1286

You’re invited to pray - Bishop Weisenburger, Msgr. Raul Trevizo, Father Jorge Farias Saucedo, Sister Gladys Echenique, OP, and Sister Jeanne Bartholomeaux, SC, recently recorded a recitation of the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. The recordings, in both English and Spanish, now are available as downloadable MP3 files, at no charge, at our diocesan webpage at: https://diocesetucson.org/communications/ Rosary-Audio-Download.html

Parish Library

The Parish Library is located in the Parish Office and offers an extensive collection of literature and audio-visual materials to our Corpus Christi Community. New books and materials are processed each month. Locating a book is made easy with the use of a 3-ring binder where each book is listed by title, author, and category. Each item contains a library card to fill out and a “Return Book” shelf. (Please return the materials so they may be available to others)

Reminder for Parents

We would like to remind parents to please accompany their children to the restrooms. We are a growing parish and would like to continue to be a safe parish. Thank you.

July Food Drive

supporting Pio Decimo Center

Pio Decimo Center provides transitional housing for homeless and at risk families, low-cost senior housing, childcare and youth pro-grams. Your donations will help anyone coming to the center seek-ing assistance. Suggested items Food: canned vegetables, fruits and meats; packaged foods/mixes; peanut butter; cereal; rice; beans Toiletries: shampoo; soap; toilet paper; laundry detergent; adult diapers; paper towels; diapers. LOOK FOR THE BLUE WHEELBARROW IN THE NARTHEX BEFORE AND AFTER ALL MASSES OR COMMUNITY CENTER DURING THE WEEK

Your Purchase Supports Our Parish

One of the easiest ways to give back to Corpus Christi is our Scrip (Gift Card) program. Simply pur-chase gift cards from Corpus Christi after Mass at the Scrip Table in the Community Center, or during the week in the Parish Office. Our church receives a percentage directly from the store. There is no extra charge-just pay by cash, check, or credit card for the face value of the card. It’s that easy! Gift cards can be used for everyday items like food, gasoline, restaurants, clothes, and much more. They also make great gifts for birthdays, holidays, or for any occasion.

HOW ABOUT WADING INTO THE VOLUNTEER POOL??? Are you interested in testing the waters of volunteering at Corpus Christi? We have a grand opportunity for you! Even if you haven't yet applied for the diocesan Safe Environment status, the Volunteer Pool allows you to lend a hand twice during the year stuffing enve-lopes, helping to set up or take down for activities, doing odd jobs of cleaning or landscaping...anything a staff member or ministry might need help with occasionally. Your name goes on the list. The facili-tator sends an e-mail when a need arises. If you are available, you respond as able to help. If you're not available, just wait for the next request. If you have your Safe Environment clearance, you are welcome to join us as well and not be limited to just twice a year. It's fun. It's easy. It's a good way to meet others and to share your time and talent with our parish. Questions? Interested? Please e-mail Linda at [email protected].
