Dispensation for Sunday Mass—Obligation Update Please be aware that starting the weekend of June 19-20, Cardinal Sean ended the pandemic dispensa-tion from the Sunday Mass obligation. This means that all Catholics are again under an obligation to attend Mass in person every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation. This obligation does not apply to those who are ill; those who have been recently exposed to COVID or any other communicable ill-ness; those who are confined to their homes or to hospitals or other facilities due to illness, infirmity, frailty, or age; and those who are not yet able to be vaccinated, due to age or any health consideration. If you have any questions about how this may apply in your own life, please call Fr. Adrian in the rec-tory office. We look forward to celebrating Mass as a full community once again, united as the one Body of Christ united in the Eucharist.

Watch out for email scams!

There have been a number of scan emails going out recently asking for gift cards for

some sort of emergency. Some parishioners have reported that they received such

emails claiming to be from Fr. Adrian. Please be assured that no one from the col-laborative would reach out by email to re-quest money, especially in the form of gift

cards. It is a scam being perpetrated by people trying to take advantage of the gen-erosity of our parishioners. It is important to always verify whether a request is actu-ally coming from the person it claims to be

before responding.

You probably noticed that over the last couple of weeks I have been putting photos from the two parishes of our collaborative on the cover of each weekly bulletin. I have been doing that for three reasons: The first reason is a very practical and simple one; I enjoy taking pictures. I enjoy tak-ing pictures of beautiful places such as our two churches and using those photos for the bulletin allows me to use that hobby for something practical, and which hopefully brings some joy to the people who see the cover images each week.

The second reason is that I hope it is helpful for homebound parishioners. There are some people who are not able to make it into the church in person because of health or mobility issues, many of whom have been faith-ful parishioners for many years. I hope that being able to see the sanctuary, or some elements like a statue or stained glass window, of their spiritual home will help them to continue to feel connected until they are able to join us in person for worship again. After all, if our collaborative bulletin isn’t giving them a chance of seeing the churches and how they are decorated for the various liturgical seasons, where else will they have a chance to see such photos? Hopefully they are able to get to see the bulletin online, or by getting a copy dropped off for them each week. The last reason for including the photos of our parishes each week is that I believe it is a way in which we can stop and appreciate the beauty of the space in which we are privileged to worship. So often we can take the good things in our lives for granted, and can pass by something beautiful or interesting every day without tak-ing much time to stop and appreciate it. Seeing it in a different context might get us to stop and take a moment and appreciate it. Hopefully the photos in the bulletin will inspire some people to take a moment and admire the various elements of our parish churches and see the beauty of the spaces. Those who built these churches a few generations ago designed them to showcase the beauty of God’s love by the way they look, and to inspire people to offer prayers glorifying God and giving thanks for the good and wonderful things he has given them. Let us make sure that we never get so used to the things they worked and sacrificed for that we pass them by unnoticed, but rather that we allow them to inspire us to bring our minds up to God. In Christ,

On Sunday, September 19, Fr. Adrian will be official-ly installed as pastor of the Light of Christ Catholic

Collaborative during the 9am Mass celebrated at Saint Bridget Parish. The Very Reverend Robert

Connors, Episcopal Vicar of the South Region, will be present to celebrate the installation.
