dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit

CREED

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one

Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us

men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and

became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the

third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will

come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the

Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and

glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one

Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.

FACING SURGERY OR SERIOUS HEALTH TESTS?

Due to Covid regulations at all hospitals, our priests are

not allowed to go into the hospitals to anoint a parishioner

with the Sacrament of the Sick.

We encourage all parishioners to call the Church office

(662-342-1073) or in case of emergency (901-351-6591)

to make an appointment with one of our priests to receive

the Sacrament before an anticipated entrance into the

hospital.

For those families that are struggling just to put food on

the table, back-to-school time can be a real challenge.

Regardless if children are learning at home or in the

classroom, having the right tools is essential.

distancing in effect we have had to make

changes for the First Communion Mass:

1. No retreat on Friday, July 31st.

2. We will have two Masses:

Saturday, August 1st at 10:00 am and

Saturday, August 8th at 10:00 am.

3. Number of guest are restricted!

Two parents and child receiving communion.

NO grandparents, NO godparents, NO siblings.

Only the parents and child.

4. Masks are required for EVERYONE.

5. Photographer available. Package cost: $30.00

First Communion has been rescheduled from May to

August 1st and 8th, 2020. Because of the social distancing

and directives during this pandemic, we are limiting the

liturgy to the children receiving First Communion and

their parents only. The Mass will be live streamed.

Letters have been mailed to all parents of children

receiving First Communion at this time.

Call the church office (662-342-1073) if you do not

receive a letter in the mail by the beginning of July.

Farewell cards for Fr. Thi During COVID 19 we are unable to give Fr.

Thi the farewell he deserves. Fr. Thi will be

leaving soon so if you would like to give him

a farewell card, there is a basket located in

the gathering area. You may also mail him a

farewell card to 785 Church Rd W.

Southaven, MS 38671. We will make sure

that he receives them. Please continue to pray for Fr. Thi

and all of the Priests of the Sacred Heart. There is also a post

on Facebook at Catholic Parishes of Northwest Mississippi

where you can leave a video farewell in the comments.

14th Sunday Ordinary Time

When we think of being good stewards, we may think that

God is asking too much of us when He calls us to

generously share our time, talent, and treasure.

However, we must remember that we are not “owners” of

anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts God has

given us. All He is asking is that we give back a small

portion, in gratitude, of what He has already given to us.

14º domingo del tiempo ordinario

Cuando pensamos en ser buenos mayordomos, podemos

pensar que Dios nos está pidiendo demasiado cuando nos

llama a compartir generosamente nuestro tiempo, talento y tesoro.

Sin embargo, debemos recordar que no somos "dueños" de

nada, somos simplemente "administradores" de los dones

que Dios nos ha dado. Todo lo que pide es que le

devolvamos una pequeña porción, en agradecimiento, de lo

que ya nos ha dado.
