Online and Television Mass for Sunday, November 22 and beyond https://www.dioceseoflansing.org/masses and online spiritual resources
EWTN has daily and weekend Mass on television—check your cable/satellite listings. As you aim to keep your household safe, please know that your company is missed around our eucharistic table.
Please note that while the ministry scheduler app has names listed for all roles we will not need Eucharistic Ministers at this time. If you or anyone in your home is ill, please do not attend, even to fulfill your assignment.
Yesterday I was reminded that Thanksgiving is this week. The calendar is moving too fast these days (except where the bug is concerned). Celebrate well.
The Giving Tree went up this week. The Feast of the Immaculate
Conception is on Tuesday this year. So Monday 7:00 PM mass and Tuesday 8:30 AM mass. Tuesday evening 7:00 will be our Advent Penance Service.

The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King,
Cycle A
Ezekiel 34:11-12,15-17
God himself will shepherd the people of Israel.
Today’s Gospel passage is the conclusion of Jesus’
discourse with his disciples. It is about the end of time, the
coming of the Son of Man, and the final judgment. We hear
this description of the final judgment at the conclusion of our
liturgical year, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the
King. In the context of Matthew’s Gospel, this passage might
also be read as a conclusion of Matthew’s report on Jesus’
life and ministry; the remaining chapters report the events of
Jesus’ Passion and Resurrection.

FROM THE BISHOP INASMUCH AS HEALTH OFFICIALS have noted a recent increase in COVID-19 cases in this region, and health care facilities have raised concerns about their ability to
provide adequately for those afflicted with this virus and its complications, again taking into account the gravity of the law from which dispensation is given (can. 90 §§1, 2) and considering anew the spiritual good of the people of God entrusted to my care (can. 87 §1), I decree that the faithful of the Diocese of Lansing are dispensed from the obligation to attend Holy Mass on Sundays and other Holy Days of Obligation until Tuesday, February 16, 2021, preceding the liturgical season of Lent. As previously provided, the faithful are reminded that while the Sunday obligation to attend Mass is dispensed, all are nevertheless obligated to keep the Lord’s day holy (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2168-2195). It is especially recommended to engage in prayer, either personally or as a family (cf, can. 1248 §2), for example, by devoutly following a broadcast of the Sunday Mass by television, internet, or radio. Parishes are encouraged to continue to use the various means of social communications to maximize accessibility to the faithful. Anything to the contrary notwithstanding. With immediate effect. Given at the Curia in Lansing on this, the thirteenth day of November, the memorial of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, virgin, in the year of our Lord 2020. Most Reverend Earl Boyea Bishop of Lansing
In Response to the Current Public Health Order by MDHHS, through December 8 the Diocese of Lansing has stated:
Public Masses: As in the past, all orders remain subject to constitutional protections, such as the free exercise of religion. In recognition of this, the new MDHHS order again includes an exemption from penalty for religious worship. Bishop Boyea has confirmed that public Masses – and sacraments and devotions – will continue under the present liturgical guidelines which accord with the highest standards of public health and hygiene relating to COVID-19. While remaining ever vigilant, it is worth noting that since the introduction of the guidelines in May there have been no known outbreaks of COVID-19 in any Diocese of Lansing parish. Deo gratias.
Non-liturgical public gatherings: Unlike past orders, which had allowed for various indoor gatherings subject to capacity limits, the new orders completely ban all non-residential indoor gatherings. Residential gatherings are limited to 10 persons, and no more than 2 households. In light of these new restrictions, parish halls will be closed and all parish gatherings prohibited. Outdoor gatherings of up to 25 people are permitted provided there is adequate space to social distance. https://dioceseoflansing.org/news/decree-dispensation-

ST. VINCENT de PAUL CONFERENCE
Today as we celebrate Christ the King, we hear Jesus say: "...whatever you did for one of the least brothers and sisters of
mine, you did for me." Knowing that we find the face of Christ in the poor, this month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to serve many families, providing help with food, utility, and rent bills, etc. THANK YOU ST. AUGUSTINE PARISHIONERS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! To our St. Augustine Family/Parishioners: During this Covid 19 Pandemic your St. Vincent de Paul is here to assist you! If you have loss of income or any other need we are here to help you. All calls/information from you will be kept confidential. Call Deacon Bill/Pat Sirl (810 750-2669) for our SVDP care, support and love.
Leaving the Parish for warmer climes?
Call the Office (517)546-9807 and give us your address and due back
home date and we’ll send you a copy of the bulletin to remind you
that we miss you.
Realign Resources for Mission Parish Meeting and Dinner on December 2 has been changed to VIRTUAL ONLY
therefore, we are working on rescheduling for January 20 in hopes that we can have people gather in person while offering a livestream.
We will keep you updated here and via email.
St Augustine The Giving Tree is up. A number of families have been adopted and, so far, we don’t have as many families signed up as last year. That being said, I registered three new families this week. With the latest “Shut Down” I will probably get more calls. I appreciate all the people who have called to adopt a family, donate, or get gift tags, for their kindness and generosity. I know that this parish will not let those in need go without Christmas. If you take a tag from the tree, PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ATTACH IT TO THE PRESENT WHEN YOU RETURN IT. Since we have a large number of teens, this year, many of the tags ask for gift cards. Please attach the tag to the gift card or place in an envelope and put it in the gold basket on the round table at the entrance to the hall. I will get it to the family making the delivery and this keeps the cards from getting lost in the abundance under the tree. There are extra envelopes next to the basket for donations. PLEASE MAKE CHECKS OUT TO ST. AUGUSTINE SVDP WITH ”GIVING TREE” IN THE MEMO SECTION. You can still mail donations to me at 10475Runyan Lake Point, Fenton, MI
48430. Donations of food cards work best from Meijer or Walmart and gas cards from Speedway. There are also envelopes for nativities and food & gas cards on the tree. While we are hoping that most gifts are returned by December 13, the food baskets will not be ready until December 19 and that is the absolute deadline for gift returns. Thank you for your kindness, generosity and continued support. This year, more than ever, what we do is truly a lifeline of hope and Christ’s love to those in need. Have a wonderful Advent and stay safe. In Christ’s love, always Pat Sirl 810 750 2669

OCTOBER 2020
We hope this continues to find everyone doing well during these difficult & challenging times. LCUI is now at a combined total of 1,815 Babies Saved within the now TWENTY TWO Ultrasound Machines we have assisted in placing throughout the State of Michigan through October 2020. We are currently engaged with ONE additional Pregnancy Resource Center, Life Choices of Central Michigan (Portable Unit) and looking for more. None of this would be possible without your generous donations, thank you for your continued support. Also, during this month of November (Holy Souls in Purgatory) that all of us need to keep all the souls, including those aborted babies in our prayers. Now more than ever we need to find ourselves deep in prayer trusting that God will prevail. LCUI is a 501 C3 Non-Profit Organization. Please follow our progress for a complete list of these Pregnancy Centers at: www.lcultrasound.org or at www.facebook.com/lcultrasound
MEN’S FELLOWSHIP
Would you like to grow in your faith as a man of God? Come join the men of the parish every Saturday morning from 7:30-9:00 in the Family Center, as we strive to get
closer to God and to each other. Together we can maximize our potential for building the Kingdom for the glory of God and the betterment of others.
We are currently watching a video series from Formed called” The Search.” This week’s episode is titled “Am I Saved?” What Jesus did for us through his life, death and resurrection was the greatest act of love in history. He saved us. He did this for each one of us. Personally. But some might feel unworthy of this gift of love. We may feel we have too much baggage. We may feel unlovable. But God didn’t come to reveal himself to us on a pedestal, he came to enter into our messy human condition. To fix us from within. To transform us from the inside out. Some might be surprised by how generous the love of God really is. We don’t deserve God’s love, but that’s the amazing reality of God’s mercy. This relationship with God isn’t all about our love for Him. It’s about His love for us that changes our lives forever. (Formed.org) Please take a moment out your day to join us, whether it’s as a wallflower or an active participant, it doesn’t matter. We meet live in the main hall or join us on Zoom at link below. WE NEED YOU! Deacon Jeff https://us04web.zoom.us/j/709666002?pwd=Y041VEdTaGIxSWthZzczSGZCODdOQT09 Meeting ID: 709 666 002
