Integrated Child Pro-tection Services (ICPS),Social Welfare Depart-ment today organized we-binar on “Act Now: EndChild Labour” to mark ob-servance of World Dayagainst Child labour beingcelebrated across theglobe.
Speakers in the webinarexpressed concern aboutthe increase in number ofChild laboureres in toughtimes of global pandemicand measures to eradicatethis menace of childlabour from the society.
Secretary, Social Wel-fare, Sheetal Nanda, whopresided over the event,spoke about the measuresneeded to end child labourin the society. She saidthat cases related to childlabour should be dealt ac-tively by the child protec-tion staff by adopting aproactive approach. “Thestaff should have an activepresence within their re-spective districts for chil-dren in need of care andprotection,” she asserted.
Nanda stressed upongenerating awareness re-garding role of child pro-tection services and theircontact details in publicdomain. She also assuredher full support to this no-ble cause.
Mission Director ICPS,Shabnam Shah Kamili,stressed upon the role ofChild Protection Servicesin reaching out to childrenin need of care and protec-tion. She threw light onthe theme “Act now: Endchild labour” and elabo-rately explained the im-portance of total eradica-tion of this biggest socialevil from the society. She
added that child labour is asocial transgression andelimination of childlabour is one of the focusareas of Child ProtectionServices, J&K.
Speaking in the eventMember, Rajasthan StateCommission for Protec-tion of Child Rights, Nus-trat Naqvi, provided de-tailed guidance to thefunctionaries of ChildProtection Services ontheir role in eradicatingthe menace of ChildLabour and fast track
dealing of such cases en-suring relief and rehabili-tation of children engulfedby this evil.
Advocate and Child Pro-tection Expert, Abha Sing-hal Joshi, stressed uponthe legal aspects in deal-ing with children who areaffected by Child Labour.
The webinar was also at-tended by District ChildProtection Officers, Dis-trict Social Welfare Offi-cers, Chairpersons ofChild Welfare Commit-tees.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 15:Commissioner SecretaryGeneral AdministrationDepartment (GAD),Manoj Kumar Dwivedi to-day convened a meeting ofsenior officers to reviewfunctioning of the Jammu& Kashmir Services Selec-tion Board (JKSSB).
Chairman JKSSB,Khalid Jahangir, officersof Industries & CommerceDepartment, General Ad-ministration Department,JKSSB and other con-cerned attended the meet-ing in person and throughvirtual mode.
While deliberating onthe important issues re-lated to the functioning ofthe Board, the Commis-sioner Secretary laudedthe efforts of the JKSSBand stressed upon effi-ciency and transparency inthe selection proceduresadopted by the Board.
While reviewing theprogress of the Acceler-ated Recruitments, MrDwivedi maintained thatthe GAD has taken a slewof reform measures in therecruitment process whichinclude holding of a com-
mon examination for theposts of similar naturehaving same pay scale anddispensing of interviewsfor lower non-gazettedposts.As a result, headded, that the Board hasinitiated the largest everrecruitment drive as partof the Accelerated Recruit-ments and during the lastsix months, the Board hasadvertised over 18,000posts, of which examina-tion was conducted for ap-proximately 12,000 vacan-cies existing across variousdepartments.
The Commissioner Sec-retary took note of thestaffing issues in the Boardand directed that all thenecessary assistance formanpower and other re-
sources shall be providedto the Board to success-fully culminate the processof Accelerated Recruit-ments.The Chairman ofthe Board was asked toconclude the ongoing se-lections on a fast-track ba-sis and ensure that thecommunication gap withthe aspirants is removedand there shall be no am-biguity in the recruitmentprocess.
Also, instructions wereissued for putting in placee-office in the Board at anearliest.
Besides, the issue of landfor the new building ofSSB in Srinagar was alsodiscussed along with theIndustries & CommerceDepartment.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 15:The Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, MohammedAijaz Asad today chaired ameeting of AyushmanBharat - Pradhan MantriJan Arogya Yojana - SE-HAT Scheme (AB-PMJAY-SEHAT) to review theprogress of registration ofbeneficiaries and genera-tion of Golden Cards in Sri-nagar district
Chief Executive Officer,Ayushman Bharat DrSagar Doifode was also pre-sent in the meeting.
On the occasion, a de-tailed PowerPoint presen-tation was presented on re-garding the status andachievements made withregard to implementationof AB-PMJAY-SEHAT inSrinagar.
The meeting also dis-cussed in detail the modali-ties for speeding up the reg-istration for SEHATscheme and directionswere passed on to all the
concered to increase regis-tration of beneficiaries un-der the scheme in their re-spective areas.
The DC was informedthat 334822 individualshave been registered withAyushman Bharat in thedistrict and so far 294205Golden Cards have been is-sued to beneficiaries.
The DC stressed upon the
officers for prompt is-suance of SEHAT cards un-der the scheme to all regis-tered beneficiaries andundertaking registrationprocess of all left outs onBIS Portal.
He also directed the con-cerned authorities to startInformation Education andCommunication (IEC) ac-tivities on mission mode by
roping in other concerneddepartments for creatingmass awareness in the dis-trict for speeding up regis-tration process.
The DC further directedthe officers to organizeGolen Card RegistrationMELAs in all MedicalZones in the district to en-sure cent percent popula-tion is covered under thescheme. He also stressedthat timely submission ofclaims and reply to queriesshould be done for ease ofbeneficiaries.
He called for coordinatedefforts in expanding theambit of SEHAT scheme sothat all eligible persons arebenefitted.
Highlighting the benefitsof the scheme, the DC saidthat AB PM-JAY SEHATScheme is one of the mostambitious schemeslaunched by Prime Minis-ter on 26th December2020 and it aims to provideUniversal Health Insur-
ance Coverage of Rs. 5.00lakh per family on a floaterbasis in convergence withcentral government’sAyushman Bharat PradhanMantri Jan Arogya Yojana(AB-PMJAY).
The CEO AyushmanBharat also spoke on theoccasion and said everypossible step will be takento increase the Registra-tions to cover all eligiblepersons under the scheme.He also said that trainingprograms for Arogya Mitirswill be conducted for theircapacity building so thatthey can perform better.
