Managed EDI Connection

With a single connection to DINET you can trade with all of your trading partners, independent of their communications

protocol or network connection methods. We manage the connections between you and your trading partners so that

you don’t have to. You send messages to DINET in your preferred format and DINET will translate them so that your

trading partner receives them in their preferred format.

The simplicity is the same regardless of whether you have a single trading partner or several hundred. We let you work

the way you want to work, rather than letting your trading partners dictate how you should work. With DINET we

DINET is available worldwide and access points exist in numerous countries. DINET recognises all the usual standards

Telecommunication Protocols

DINET supports all the major protocols and network connections. We always promote secure protocols as a preferred

connection method but recognise that every company has its own security policies. For high volumes or customers with

special network requirements a VPN or secure protocol is strongly recommended to communicate with DINET (All

Internet based protocols can use a VPN).

Online Account Management

The key to any EDI environment that plays an integral part to a business is the ability to understand what exactly is going

on. DINET has online account management to provide exact information about the documents you have exchanged on

both a day to day basis and a historic / management basis.

Digital Security

The issue of security is now a mandatory checkbox for any VAN service.

Using highly secure digital certificates in conjunction with the security

capable protocols OFTP 2, AS2 and S-FTP together with SSL access,

those users accessing DINET via the cost effective Internet, have all

the security benefits of a highly secure private network.

Message Translation

The powerful mapping functionality of DINET lets you send messages

to DINET in the format of your choice which DINET will then translate

so that your trading partner receives your messages in the format of their

choice - these formats can be completely different from each other. Messages

can then be imported into internal systems without the need for translation as this

has already been done. Communicating with trading partners instantly becomes much easier

and much more attractive.

Message Delivery Alerting

DINET can send you customisable notifications for many different kinds of events to give you complete visibility on your

document exchanges. Notifications can be sent via email for events such as messages waiting to be delivered, successful

transmission and also any delays. The notifications can contain all the communication details and even the documents

themselves.

Certain document types are more time critical than others. In a manufacturing environment a Just in Time delivery

instruction may have to be acted upon by the supplier within a time frame as short as 15 minutes and failure to do so will

cause an assembly line to fail and come to a halt. Other orders may not be so critical but non-delivery is not an option.

With DINET you can set trading partner-specific time limits on message delivery and alert the relevant personnel to act

accordingly.

Disaster Recovery

Using 100% redundant disaster recovery technologies DINET is able to maintain an availability in excess of 99.9%. The

fault tolerant network infrastructure of DINET, along with multiple nodes worldwide, provides an instant switch-over

capability, providing you with business continuity. Offsite data centres and a primary / secondary site structure ensures that

all your documents, whether mission critical or not, are fully protected against any potential disaster.

Push and Pull

A major benefit of DINET is its Push approach to connectivity. When a document is available for sending to a user,

we prefer to send it, immediately! Many legacy VANs require that you poll them every so often to check for available

documents (Pull). DINET is able to work in the same manner but why live in the slow lane?

Web Forms

DINET off ers a comprehensive Web EDI (Darwin Web) solution that allows a trading partner to receive orders, send

invoices and despatch notes and to print labels using a web browser. Darwin Web is targeted at small companies who have

little eCommerce activity or those that are seasonal.

Unlike web portals, the Darwin Web solution allows a

company to trade with all of its trading partners from

one application. Darwin Web allows smaller companies

to start trading quickly and effi ciently and to also

overcome any fi nancial obstacles, which many people

associate with implementing EDI. You simply exchange

data with DINET and the messages are presented

to your suppliers via Darwin Web or sent to their

mailbox
