Operation Christmas Child is off to a good start! Please collect your empty boxes at Standaround or as you leave today. You can also return your filled boxes to the red receptacles at the Chapel; Fitness Center; Clubhouse; Canoe Lodge; IGA; Tennis Center or the racks at both en-trances to the Postal Facility.

Christmas Blessing Time: It is always the right time to think of the many blessings we enjoy each day. And it is always the right time to think of the many ways we can be a blessing to others. Christmas Blessing is a wonderful opportunity to share the blessings of Christmas with a needy or foster child in Pickens and Dawson county. Please take the time to sign up to be a Shopper or a Driver at Stand-Around each Sunday from Octo-ber 1 - October 15 at the Christmas Blessing table. We need your help again this year to insure that these children find gifts under the tree on Christmas morning

Stewardship Testimony ~ Nancy Lucenay

19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) The apostle Paul recognized that the gift the Philippians had sent to him had ac-tually been a gift to God, and he was grateful for their expres-sion of love both for him and for the Lord. Our heavenly Father has always intended his blessings to be recycled. 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of com-passion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) We as believers have both the privilege and responsibility to pass on the blessings God has given us. When Harry and I moved to Hong Kong in 2003 to pastor a church, we had no idea how or where we would be able to retire. We sold our house in the US and either sold or gave away many of our possessions before moving. (Not to worry—we still had plenty of “stuff.”) In 2008, I began praying about retirement, having no idea where, when or how. In 2014, we bought a small house in Big Canoe, thinking we would be in our 80s before we finished paying for it. God very unexpectedly provided resources to pay it off six months before we retired in December 2015. Once again, he did immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine. What a privilege it is to respond to God’s grace with gratitude! Everything we have is a gift from him, and everything he gives us is an investment that he wants us to use for his honor and glory. We give to God by giving to his work—our time, our tal-ents, our energy, our possessions and our money. We have given our tithes and offerings in many ways through the 48 years of our marriage—by writing a weekly or monthly check, by putting cash in the offering plate and even today by giving online. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to demonstrate our love and commitment to the Lord by sharing the gifts he gives us.
