Exposition of Blessed Sacrament at St. Mary’s of the Fort
Each Tuesday beginning at 5:00PM-6:00PM, all are welcome to join us in the
quiet and peaceful time in prayer before the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
All Women Invite for Women’s Group St. Mary’s women’s prayer group meets every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at St.
Mary’s parish center. The group is currently watching and discussing The
Bible and the Virgin Mary, a 12 week program. Women from all parishes are
invited to attend. There is also Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at St.
Mary’s Church prior to the meeting, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., for those who
would like to spend some time in Adoration. Please join us!

As the buildings are closed as houses of worship, Bishop LaValley
will come to Burke, Westville and Bombay to offer final Masses at
these churches. (Please note that the weekend Mass schedules will
be altered for those weekends.)
December 7th at 4:00PM for St. George’s in Burke
December 7th at 6:00PM for Our Lady of Fatima in Westville
December 29th at 10:00AM for St. Joseph’s in Bombay
A reception will follow at each of the final Masses.
Parishioners are encourage to bring along photos and other parish
memorabilia to the parish offices so we can display them at Mass
and receptions.
Christmas Tea at St. Augustine’s Parish, North Bangor
St. Augustine’s Parish will hold their annual Christmas Tea on Sunday,
December 1, 2019 from 11-3pm at the Parish Hall located at 2472 State
Rte. 11, North Bangor. There will be a luncheon with homemade soups,
sandwiches, and beverages. In addition there will be crafts, baked goods,
The Cake Walk, a Chinese Auction and 50-50 raffle. Cookies, Coffee, Tea
and Punch is available for everyone. Santa will make a surprise visit
around 12:00PM to see the children in the afternoon.

Altar Rosary Society of Burke & Chateaugay News
The Altar Rosary Society of Burke & Chateaugay is planning a Christmas
Dinner/Party for its members as well as members of the Knights of Co-
lumbus. It will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd at 5:00PM at the Malone
Golf Club. Menu consists of a Buffet meal including Salad, Rolls, Roast-
ed Potatoes, Vegetable Medley, Chicken Lombardy, Roast Beef Au Jus,
Assorted Cheesecake & Pies, Coffee, Tea, Water & Cash bar.
Anyone planning on attending this event, must have their money in by
Tuesday, Nov. 26th. Cost is $21 per person, which includes tax & tip.

Collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development
Please be generous in this week’s special collection, which supports the
Catholic Campaign for Human Development. In the United States, one
in six people live in poverty. Through this collection, you support pro-
grams that address the causes of poverty and provide a sustainable future
for people across the country who struggle. In addition, 25% of the
funds we collect will remain in our diocese to fund local antipoverty
projects. Please prayerfully consider how you can support his collection

CWTR ANNUAL FOOD & PIE SALE

Attention all BAKERS: CWTR will hold our annual pie/
food sale after the 4:00pm Mass at St. Francis. Please bring

If school is closed or on a delay due to winter weather conditions,
daily Mass will also be cancelled.
News from the Knights of Columbus Council 9991
Once again the Knights of Columbus will be doing fund raising for the
needy to buy Christmas dinners and gifts. Last year we had gifts for 34
children and purchased $2,500 in gift cards from Aldi’s to hand out so the
parents and our seniors could buy themselves Christmas Dinner. If you
wish to donate please mark your envelope K of C Christmas and drop it
in the collection baskets. If you wish to have your donation picked up,

Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner
All are welcome at the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on
November 28th at St. André Outreach Center located on 12 Home-
stead Park. There will be one seating: 12:30pm until all are
served. The meal will be available by eat-in or take-out. There will

between Nov. 18th to Nov. 26th. Volunteers will be needed on Wed.,
Nov. 27th at 9:00am and on Thanksgiving Day, Thurs., Nov. 28th at

Christmas Bulb Ornament Available
The Fort Covington Historical Society’s 2019 Christmas ornament de-
picting St. Mary’s Church is available for purchase at Mary’s Place
Thrift Store and the Ft. Covington Adult Center. The price is
$10.00. Thank you for your support.
Ziploc Outreach Project
Again this year during the Advent and Christmas seasons, our parishes
will be collecting health/hygiene products for donation to the North Coun-
try Mission of Hope based in Plattsburgh, NY for distribution to families
affected by disasters in our country and elsewhere in the world. The fol-
lowing items will be put in gallon size Ziploc bags:

Toothbrush Toothpaste Deodorant Comb
Chapstick Hand sanitizer
Your donation of one item or a Ziploc bag fully packed will be greatly
appreciated. Boxes will be placed in each of the church’s lobbies for your

2019 Bishop’s Fund Appeal: “Alive in Christ”
34 families in CWTR parish have made a gift or pledge to the 2019
Bishop’s Fund Appeal. The parish goal is to have 75 or more families
participate. We are grateful to those that have made a sacrificial gift to
this year’s Bishop’s Fund Appeal. CWTR’s parish has raised $3,275.00
toward the parish goal of $6,275.00.
59 families in CCBC parish have made a gift or pledge to the 2019 Bish-
op’s Fund Appeal. The parish goal is to have 125 or more families par-
ticipate. We are grateful to those that have made a sacrificial gift to this
year’s Bishop’s Fund Appeal. CCBC’s parish has raised $7,665.00 to-
ward the parish goal of $13,314.00.
32 families in St. Mary’s parish have made a gift or pledge to the 2019
Bishop’s Fund Appeal. The parish goal is to have 63 or more families
participate. We are grateful to those that have made a sacrificial gift to
this year’s Bishop’s Fund Appeal. St. Mary’s parish has raised
$2,253.75 toward the parish goal of $6,183.00.
14 families in St. Joseph’s parish have made a gift or pledge to the 2019
Bishop’s Fund Appeal. The parish goal is to have 43 or more families
participate. We are grateful to those that have made a sacrificial gift to
this year’s Bishop’s Fund Appeal. St. Joseph’s parish has raised
$1,966.00 toward the parish goal of $3,905.00.
The Bishop’s Fund Appeal supports ministries, activities and programs
that serve people throughout the Diocese in ways that we as an individu-
al parish could never do alone. If you have not yet made your gift,
please prayerfully consider supporting the 2019 Bishop’s Fund Appeal,
which is separate from the Capital Campaign, with a pledge or one-time
gift. A pledge allows us to support the Appeal in four convenient pay-
ments throughout the year.
Annual Community Christmas Basket Program
The food, supplies & toy basket program is underway. The list of
items needed to complete the project to help those in need at this time
of year that should be festive, was itemized last week in the bulletin.
Items can be placed in the container in the entrance of church. No
clothing or food please!! We need NEW TOYS, ACTIVITY &
READING BOOKS FOR CHILDREN THROUGH TEENS,
GAMES, PUZZLES, JEWELRY, PERFUME, WATCHES, CRAY-
ONS & COLORING BOOKS, MARKERS, BASIC HYGIENE
PRODUCTS like toothpaste, shower gel, soap, perfume, hand sani-
tizer, BASIC HOME CLEANING PRODUCTS, SMALL PACKAG-
ES OF PAPER PRODUCTS like napkins, paper towels/tissues,
ADULT COLORING BOOKS & COLORED PENCILS! If you have

Christmas is coming!
Mary's Place Thrift Shop, 3 Burns Rd, Fort Covington, will host a spe-
cial event on Saturday, Dec. 7th from 9am-4pm. Paparazzi Jewelry will

North Country Cursillo: Consider a Cursillo Weekend
North Country Cursillo of the Ogdensburg diocese is planning to hold the
next Cursillo Weekend for women on December 12-15, 2019 at Wadhams
Hall in Ogdensburg.
