1. Promoting Education via Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng

Since its establishment in 1994, Yayasan TSLSC has contributed over RM24 mil to help enrich thelives of the less fortunate through education and various community initiatives.

Yayasan TSLSC has been guided by the following objectives :

Advance the human capital development for the nation by awarding scholarships tobrilliant students and providing financial assistance to underprivileged students

Contribute towards community welfare and development

Contribute towards scientific research and teachings

Offer relief to the poor and needy who are affected by epidemics of disease, naturaldisasters or other similar emergencies, by contributing to welfare and charitable organisations

Provide medical and surgical facilities and services for all kind

Provide medical or financial assistance to the needy who are disabled, poverty strickenor critically ill

Yayasan TSLSC has been undertaking several initiatives to promoteeducation through:

a. Social Enterprise-Bargain BasementAn initiative of Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng, the charity arm of IOI Group, Bargain Basement has commenced it’s operations in June 2016 and is located at B3-10 (Basement 3), IOI City Mall, Putrajaya.

∗ Bargain Basement encourages thecommunity to donate their pre-loveditems, with 100% of the net proceedschanneled to various charities.

∗ Bargain Basement was conceived as aself-sustaining model where proceedsof a business is used to finance thesocial funds required for charitablepurposes.

a. Social Enterprise-Bargain BasementOn 6 December 2016, a total of 35 children from Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak- KanakCornerstone Selangor and Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Lagenda enjoyed avery merry Christmas at IOI City Mall (ICM) courtesy of Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng(Yayasan TSLSC) and ICM as part of IOI Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)initiative in celebrating this festive season.

a. Social Enterprise-Bargain Basement

∗ The children and caretaker wereinvited to the LG Centre Court of ICMto witness cheque presentation byBargain Basement. Datin JoanneWong was invited on stage to spreadthe love and joy by contributing theBargain Basement’s nett proceeds ofRM 50,000 to five beneficiaries.

b. Student Adoption Program (Program Anak Angkat)

The Student Adoption Programme was officially launched by the Deputy Minister ofEducation YB Dr. Wee Ka Siong in 2008 to provide underprivileged students withequal access to a good basic education as a platform to a brighter future. Since then,the programme has successfully benefited more than 900 school children from over204 primary and secondary schools across the nation.

Under this programme, each adopted child will receive financial assistance ofRM800 and a school bag each year until they complete their primary or secondaryeducation. Through this programme, the Yayasan TSLSC hopes to sustain theireducational needs and motivate them to excel in their studies while helping to easetheir families’ financial burdens.

∗ IOI Group’s foundation, Yayasan Tan SriLee Shin Cheng (Yayasan TSLSC) hasawarded RM 360,000 to 403 needystudents from 29 primary andsecondary schools in Penisular Malaysiaand Sabah under its Student AdoptionProgrammer (SAP) 2016.

∗ Under SAP, primary students will eachreceive RM 800 while secondarystudents will receive RM 1,000 perannum until he or she completes theirprimary and secondary education.

c. Scholarship Awards

Yayasan TSLSC aims to encourage, support and invest in qualified Malaysian youth in highereducation as part of the foundation’s contribution towards the development of the country.

Annually, Yayasan TSLSC awards scholarships to academically outstanding students who arepursuing full-time undergraduate studies related to our business nature at recognised localinstitutions of higher learning in Malaysia. Upon graduation, they are provided with careeropportunities within IOI Group to gain professional experience and enhance their skills in aleading global corporation.

To date, Yayasan TSLSC has granted almost RM6,000,000 worth of scholarships to alldeserving students to realise their dreams of a brighter future.

∗ IOI Group’s foundation, Yayasan Tan Sri Lee ShinCheng (Yayasan TSLSC), has awarded RM424,000worth of scholarships to 12 outstanding students topursue higher education in selected disciplines atlocal institutions of higher learning.

∗ The students were recognised for their excellentacademic achievements and extra-curricular activitiesat Yayasan TSLSC’s Scholarship PresentationCeremony held on 22 October 2016 at Palm GardenHotel. IOI Corporation Berhad Chief Executive OfficerDato’ Lee Yeow Chor and Executive Director ofYayasan TSLSC Datin Joanne Wong presented thescholarships to the students.

d. Young Achievers’ Awards

The Young Achievers’ Awards was introduced by Yayasan TSLSC in 1999 to invigorateand motivate young students to strive for excellence in their studies. Cash awards,plaques and certificates of achievement are given out annually to reward brightstudents from primary to upper secondary levels who excel academically, possess highleadership qualities and who are active in their extra-curricular activities.

To date, Yayasan TSLSC has given more than RM300,000 worth of cash prizes to theyoung achievers since its inception.

A total of 89 students received the Young Achievers’ Awards (YAA) from YayasanTan Sri Lee Shin Cheng (Yayasan TSLSC) totalling RM 38,900 in cash prizes,plaques and certificates in recognition of their excellent results in UPSR, PT3,SPM and STPM examinations including ‘O’ Levels, UEC and ‘A’ Levels in 2015.

2. Good Rapport with Resident Associations (RAs)

IOI Properties Group Berhad has continuously supported Residents Associations (RA)and made concerted efforts to build good rapport with the residents. Throughoutmany years, IOI Properties has supported RA’s activities during festive seasons,community gatherings, social initiatives such as gotong royong and local securitytightening. We aim to have close bonds with and understand the needs of thecommunities which we build.

Amenities are crucial in creating a sustainable community. We have built numerousamenities in order to enhance the lifestyle of the residents living in the community.Not only to provide better lifestyle but to create more spaces to foster family bonding.We care about the well-being of the residents and the community as a whole.Amenities such as the private clubhouses, themed gardens, public parks, bi-paths andmany other amenities has helped to create a better living for the community.

This clubhouse offers something for everyone in the family from the gymnasium,yoga deck to the 40m swimming pool. Other facilities such as function hall andbadminton courts are also made available. Other than the hardware, we alsoorganize classes, training sessions and holiday camps in the clubhouse .
