“LIFT EVERY VOICE AND SING” Words by James Weldon Johnson

Lift every voice and sing,

till earth and heaven ring,

Ring with the harmonies of Liberty;

Let our rejoicing rise

High as the listening skies,

Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.

Sing a song full of the faith that the

dark past has taught us,

Sing a song full of the hope that

the present has brought us,

Facing the rising sun of our new day begun

Let us march on till victory is won.

Stony the road we trod,

Bitter the chastening rod,

Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;

Yet with a steady beat,

Have not our weary feet

Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?

We have come over a way

that with tears have been watered,

We have come, treading our path

through the blood of the slaughtered,

Out from the gloomy past,

Till now we stand at last

Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.

God of our weary years, God of our silent tears,

Thou who has brought us thus far on the way;

Thou who has by Thy might Led us into the light,

Keep us forever in the path, we pray.

Lest our feet stray from the places, Our God,

where we met Thee;

Lest, our hearts drunk with the

wine of the world, we forget Thee;

Shadowed beneath Thy hand,

May we forever stand.

True to our GOD, True to our native land!

This Is My Mission

(Tune: Blessed Assurance)

Blessed with His goodness, Blessed with His love

Blessed with His showers that come from above.

Blessed with His sunshine, Blessed with His air,

I’ll go on helping everywhere.

God gives the courage, Faith leads the way,

Onward we travel happy and gay.

Thinking of others, willing to share,

Taking God’s message, everywhere.

Remembering others whenever I pray,

Looking to Jesus, He is the way.

Onward I travel, Him by my side,

I’ll never falter, He is my guide.

Chorus

This is my mission, This is my prayer,

Helping the needy everywhere.

This is my mission, this is my prayer,

Helping the needy, everywhere.

Mission Statement

Members of the Women’s Intermediate Auxiliary of the Progressive Missionary and Educational Baptist State Convention of Florida,

Inc. are committed to carrying out the Great Commission of God through evangelism; be it spiritually, financially, educationally,

culturally, or socially throughout our local communities and abroad.

Litany LEADER: We encourage a greater participation in reaching out to the youth and other individuals with special needs. We

develop home missions, support foreign missions, education, programs, and evangelism ministries to fulfill the objectives. We

believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, and our Lord, who was

born of the Virgin Mary, and died in our stead as an atoning sacrifice for sin.

W.I.A.: As a Christian and Missionary, I accept the great command that God has given me to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

LEADER: We believe that He rose from the dead in human body, and ascended to heaven therein.

W.I.A.: As a Christian and Missionary, I accept the great command that God has given me to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

LEADER: We believe that He will return visibly in judgment to raise the dead, and reign forever in the glorified body, as the

everlasting incarnation of God.

W.I.A.: As a Christian and Missionary, I accept the great command that God has given me to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

LEADER: We believe in the Holy Spirit, who exists externally with the Father and the Son in the unity of the Godhead, and

regenerates and sanctifies the penitent through faith in Christ.

W.I.A.: As a Christian and Missionary, I accept the great command that God has given me to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

LEADER: We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God, the supreme authority in religion, and in the light of all the

facts concerning it, without errors of any kind, except small literary ones in the translations.

W.I.A.: As a Christian and Missionary, I accept the great command that God has given me to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

LEADER: We believe that those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Redeemer are saved through His merits

alone, while those who in His eyes, reject Him, will suffer the eternal consequences of sin in hell.

W.I.A.: As a Christian and Missionary, I accept the great command that God has given me to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

LEADER: We believe that the Christ church universal is the company of all who are redeemed by the blood of Christ, and

are formed by the Holy Spirit into one spiritual body, of which Christ alone is the Head.

ALL: We believe that it is the mission of the church to share Christ’s death and resurrection through personal faith in Him,

as signified by baptism; to glorify Him by good works; to give His gospel to all men; and to wait for His appearing in

partaking of the Lord’s Supper “till He comes.”

JUNIOR WOMEN AUXILIARY ESSENTIALS

Thou Art My Sister Poem by Jean Humphrey Chailhie

Thou art my sister, because we were born of the same great spirit; conceived from the same

mound of earth; slept quietly together in the cradle of unknowing until He in his gentleness set

us in the midst of humanity you are my sister, I love you.

You and I are destined to be companions on the highway of life; together or apart, you are my

sister I love you if the color of my skin is different from yours it mattered not, only let the

beauty of our souls be kindred.

I will honor your wisdom and understanding, as you will mine, together we shall seek the seeds

of truth in the distant rooms of the Great Spirit; the reflection of inner knowledge shall wear as

beauty upon our faces...you are my sister I love you.

I will be human and fall down in rough places; but thy hand is near mine, I will reach for it. I

shall not be alone. I will embrace you when the rains of sorrow visit you, I will visit your soul as

if it were my own you are my sister, I love you.

If death takes me from the lamp of life, and the veil of sleep falls across my eyes before yours, I

will wait for you. I will come to lead you across the bridge of night into the meadows of the

Great Spirit....you are my sister I love you.

Usher Psalm

The Lord is my light and he is the joy of my salvation

of whom then shall I be afraid.

I am a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord.

Yea though I meet with unpleasant conditions, I must keep smiling, for I must enter into his presence with

Thanksgiving and into his courts with praise.

Yea though I walk through the shadows of unkindness, I must smile for the beauty of the Lord is upon me;

my countenance is filled with light,

the light of Love, patience and endurance,

I shall strive to give joy to the sorrowful, hope to the lost, sunshine to the darkness, and I shall remain a

doorkeeper in the house of the Lord as long as I live.

May the God of the Universe, the All Wise Savior,

be with each of us as we travel to our various destinations, and uphold us with His right hand until we meet again.

May the Lord Bless you and Keep you in His care, is my prayer. Amen
