2. What is a hold?If you wish to borrow a book that has been checked out by someoneelse, you can place a hold on it.When the book is returned to thelibrary, then you can place a hold on the book. 3. Look up the book in the online Catalog at www.cincinnatilibrary.org 4. The Item Information Record willtell you if the book is checked out. 5. Click on the Place Hold link. It islocated on the left hand side of the screen. 6. A log in screen will appear. 7. Enter your login information. 8. Click on Place Hold. 9. This tells you that the hold was placedsuccessfully! 10. When the book becomes available.You will be notified by phoneor email when your hold isavailable. Please contact yourlocal library if you have anyquestions. 11. Placing Holds on MaterialsAbout Holds Cardholders may place holds onmost types of materials. Amaximum number of items aperson can place on hold may beestablished.
