ANNUAL SCHOOL
REPORT
This year we are evaluating the
L3 Program that is running in
Miss Pursehouse‟s room and
Student Welfare.
Usually we send a survey out to
be filled in. This year I would
like to give you a little more
freedom.
Please fill out the form in this
newsletter and send it back
before 26th August to be in the
draw for a “Taralga Public
School Recognition Pack.”
K / 1
K-1 have enjoyed learning their songs and dances for the school play.
Well done and keep practicing them at home.
2 / 3 / 4
We have been practicing how to draw people in class using a light
outline first. In Maths we have been learning about volume and
centimeters cubed.
Don‟t forget to keep doing your homework every night.
4 / 5 / 6 It has been a busy week for 4-5-6, with touch football, High School
Taster days, play practice and athletics. Hopefully next week we will
catch up with some more school work!!
LIBRARY/SCIENCE
In the library we are incubating silkworms and chicken eggs as part
of our science topic this term “Life Cycles.”
Well done to the “lead rolls” in the school play - who have learnt all
their lines and have been practicing without scripts.
In today‟s newsletter there is a note regarding costumes, so that par-
ents have plenty of time to organise these. We really appreciate your
help in this matter.
Mrs Hayes
It is sometimes hard when work is new and different but the way we
tackle these new things makes a huge difference. If we stay focused
and listen and have a positive attitude, it is amazing what we can
achieve. You jus have to believe!!
YEAR 5-6 GIRLS
The Year 5-6 girls have been learning about puberty during health lessons this week. The girls
were very sensible and mature during this time, but they may have some questions to ask you.

SCHOOL CONCERT
As you probably know by now, this year‟s Concert is “The Wizard of Oz.” I have spoken to
most of the lead roles who assure me they are OK with organising their own costumes. How-
ever, if you are having any difficulty, please let Miss Pursehouse or myself now as soon as
possible.
This includes:
Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion, Glinda the good Witch, the Wicked Witch of the West,
Toto, and the Wizard of Oz.
Gatekeeper - we have a large gate for you to stand behind. You will need to wear a green
jacket if possible, or green clothes, Top Hat.
Other roles:
Lullaby League - K-1 Girls
Ballerina outfit or similar; tulle skirt; ballet flats or ballet shoes. Please DO NOT go out and
spend lots of money on anything new. Borrow from friends or you can get cheap outfits in
Kmart and GOLO.
Lollipop Guild - K-1 Boys
Long striped over the knee socks; black school shoes; brown, black or denim shorts (cut off
like pirate costume if possible); stripy T-shirt.
Rainbow Girls - 2-3 Girls
Black tights or leggings and a black t-shirt; black ballet flats or school shoes.
Chorus Line - 2-3 Boys
Denim Jeans; white plain t-shirt; school shoes or farm boots OK.
Flying Monkeys
All black (tights or leggings and long sleeved t-shirt). They will also need a black cape or
black wings.
Munchkins with speaking parts
Same as for either the lullaby league or lollipop guild.
Trees
All brown/green if possible - they will hold some real tree branches as well.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at school on 48402047.
