Ayes: Doeppke, Keehner, Peter- son. Motion carried. There was discussion regarding the con- dition of Hwy 410 (W68). Some comments heard included replacing the light at the inter- section with Hwy 3 & 13, appreciation of in- tersection change, safety concerns for turn- ing traffic, possible speed limit change, five year construction plan, traffic counts, tourism associated with Backbone State Park, oil seepage, sand versus chip application, seal coat condition, effects of higher tempera- tures, potholes/divots, embargo, semi/heavy traffic use, tar sticking to vehicles, and call- ing the Sheriff’s Office or Secondary Roads on-call person if issues arise outside normal Secondary Roads office hours. Conservation Director Jenna Pollock discussed renovating the third floor of the Osborne Nature Center. The space would be used by Conservation for programs held throughout the year and serve as a site for continuation of services in the event of a di- saster at other county facilities. Pollock will advertise for bids to complete the project. Guests: Myron Phelps, Mike Tschirgi, Tim West, Raymond Schirmer, Jim Schulte, Sharon Schulte, Jon Banse, Marge Banse, Richard Linderwell, Fred Kinne, Lynn Kinne, Rick Miersen, Kris Recker, Jason Thole, Rick Althoff, Jane Richmond, John Rich-mond, Bill Wilson, Janet Wilson, Kenneth Faust, Rafe Koopman, Curt Keppler, Jenna Pollock, Sarah Moser Keehner moved, Doeppke seconded to approve the minutes of the July 9, 2019, meeting. Ayes: Doeppke, Keehner, Peter-son. Motion carried. There was discussion regarding the con-dition of Hwy 410 (W68). Some comments heard included replacing the light at the inter-section with Hwy 3 & 13, appreciation of in-tersection change, safety concerns for turn-ing traffic, possible speed limit change, five year construction plan, traffic counts, tourism associated with Backbone State Park, oil seepage, sand versus chip application, seal coat condition, effects of higher tempera-tures, potholes/divots, embargo, semi/heavy traffic use, tar sticking to vehicles, and call-ing the Sheriff’s Office or Secondary Roads on-call person if issues arise outside normal Secondary Roads office hours. Conservation Director Jenna Pollock discussed renovating the third floor of the Osborne Nature Center. The space would be used by Conservation for programs held throughout the year and serve as a site for continuation of services in the event of a di-saster at other county facilities. Pollock will advertise for bids to complete the project.
