REUNION Last week I had the pleasure of aending a 10 year reunion of students who graduated from St Joseph’s School, Clare. It was a fantasc occasion with the students reminiscing about “old” mes, sharing stories and speaking with pride about their old school. From a personal point, I was amazed at how oſten and how widely they had travelled overseas, how successful they had been academically and at a terary level. They too were amazed at the changes to their school. But for me the most moving part was how they cherished many of the lile things - buddies, reading at Mass, concert performances and, of course, the school camps. Whilst I did come away from the evening feeling just that lile bit older, I also came away with a sense of pride of how successful, well-adjusted, confident, yet grounded, these young people were. REMINDER We will be holding a Pupil Free Day on Friday 1st September as our staff will be involved in an Indigenous Educaon Professional Development day. Clare OSHC will be available. BUSES Only the Blyth bus will be running on Friday 25th August as a result of CPS & CHS having Pupil Free days. EARLY ARRIVAL TO SCHOOL Recently we have had quite a few students arriving to school very early. I need to remind you that supervision doesn’t start unl 8.30am, therefore being at school before this me may place your child at risk. If you require out of school hours care in the morning, please contact the Clare OHSC on 88421430. ABSENTEEISM Thanks for your assistance in this area. The process is working extremely well with parents doing a great job in informing the admin staff of the reason for their child being absent. Saving a lot of me. Sincere thanks! RIDE TO SCHOOL CANCELLED Tomorow’s Ride to School has been cancelled, however there will be one held in Term 4. PARKING - VICTORIA ROAD This Thursday the Clare and Gilbert Valley Council will be changing the way parking is conducted out the front of the school on Victoria Road. As a result of a couple of accidents and some near misses, parallel parking will be the only way parking will be permied. Whilst on the subject of parking, I have had a few complaints about people parking on the corner of Victoria Road and Temple Road. The complaints are regarding the restricon of vision therefore pung everyone in danger. Your compliance with this request would be much appreciated. MASTER PLAN It will be great to progress to the next stage of our Master Planning. This week I will meet with the design team (reps from all parts of our school), parents, students, staff and parish - receiving feedback, suggesons and comments from them all. This informaon will shape the next stage of this progress. ASSEMBLY You are invited to come along and celebrate our students’ achievements at our School Assembly on Friday 25th at 9am.
