STATE TESTING~
FORWARD EXAM 3rd & 4th Grade
It is getting to that time of year when state
assessments will be starting. This year, the Forward
Exam testing dates for Sunrise 3rd and 4th graders
run from April 1st to April 26th. Both 3rd and 4th
grades have designated days during this time to
take specific portions of the assessment. As in the
past, we ask that families try to avoid testing times
for appointments, vacations, etc. Missed tests will
need to be made up during our make-up date/time.
More information will be sent home soon. Thank
you for your cooperation.
Dear Sunrise Families,
The safety of our students is our highest
concern. Please help to set a good example for our
students by watching the crossing guard in the front
of school and following the stop sign. You are an
important role model for your child and for the other
children who are crossing in front everyday.
Thank you for your help with this.

The Kimberly Area School District is dedicated to providing the safest environment for our students and staff. During the 2018-19 school year, schools will be implementing a new secure access system, commonly known as a “buzz-in entry”.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
● All visitors (including family members, volunteers, and vendors arerequired to follow the buzz-in procedure during the school day.)
● When you arrive, press the button on the intercom. Guests may beasked to present a government issued ID to the glass window forverification.
● A staff member may ask you some clarifying questions beforegranting access to the building.
● Once inside, continue to sign in at the office and wear a visitor badgewhile in the school.
● Anyone unfamiliar with the buzz-in procedure can refer to instructionsposted at the main entrance of the school.
● We realize this system will require a change in practice from staff, families, and visitors.
● Thank you for your support as we work to create the safest learningenvironment possible.
