TOWNSHIP OF MORRIS PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

Mission StatementThe goal of the Township of Morris Parks & Recreation Department is to provide recreation and leisure opportunities for Township

residents of all ages. The Township is proud to offer a wide variety of recreational programs and park facilities for the entire

community.

Parks & Recreation Advisory CommitteeThe Township of Morris Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee is appointed by the Township Committee. There are a total of 21

members, each member is appointed for a 3-year term. The Advisory Committee meets on selected 3 rd Thursdays of the month a

7:00 PM at the Township of Morris Municipal Building.

The Committee is responsible for the planning and implementation of long-range plans for recreation programs and parks. This

includes park development, need assessments, and liaison with local recreation providers. 

REGISTRATION AND GENERAL INFORMATION1. Township of Morris residents are given first preference for program registrations.2. All participants must register through the Parks & Recreation Office. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE TAKEN AT

PROGRAM SITES.3. Registration is limited in some programs and is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.4. Programs will be canceled if there are insufficient registrations.5. Please be aware that unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather or school programs, may cause program changes.6. Check the Township of Morris website for information and updates; www.morristwp.com.7. Registration fees are non-refundable unless a class is canceled by the Parks & Recreation Department.

8. Fees for programs will not be pro-rated for late registrations. 

REGISTRATION FOR ACTIVITIESPlease read the following instructions:

1.  Registrations are now on-line at https://register.communitypass.net/morristownship.2.  To register by mail, fill out the registration form found in this brochure.3.  Either mail to the Parks & Recreation office or drop off at your convenience.4.  Payment may be made by check (payable to the Township of Morris Parks & Recreation Department) and mailed to

50 Woodland Avenue, P.O. Box 7603, Convent Station, NJ 07961-7603) or cash in the correct amount only.5.  All confirmations and receipts are dependant on an e-mail address.6.  All fees must be paid at time of registration and prior to class start time.7.  Refunds/credit will be given if the Parks & Recreation Department cancels a program.8.  Request for refunds must be written and received 5 days prior to the program start date.

9.  No refunds of registration fees will be given once the program begins.

The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to make program changes.

PERMITS FOR GROUP USE OF FIELDS & FACILITIESAll groups of 15 or more persons desiring to use an outdoor facility or athletic field maintained by the Township of Morris mustfile a formal application with the Department of Parks & Recreation. In addition to the completed and signed application form,the applicant must also provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance addressed to the Township of Morris in the minimum coverageamount of $1,000,000 naming the Township of Morris as an additional insured, plus a signed Hold Harmless agreement. Fees forreserved group use are set by Township Ordinance. Please contact the Department of Parks & Recreation for details. Permitapplications are available for download on the Township of Morris Website- www.morristwp.com or from the Department of 

Parks & Recreation.

TOWNSHIP of MORRIS SENIOR CITIZENS’ CLUBIf you are 60 years of age or older you are eligible to join the Senior Citizens’ Club that gives the senior residents of the Townshipof Morris an opportunity to establish comradeships. The club offers many fun and informational activities and meets each monthat the Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum, 6 Normandy Heights Road at 1:00 PM. Dues are $8.00 per year & upon joiningyou will receive the monthly newsletter.

SENIOR CARD PARTIESLocation: Morris Mews

Come out and enjoy an afternoon of stimulating fun playing cards on the first and third Wednesday afternoons of each month from1:30 PM - 3:30 PM. Learn or improve your game of bridge or Skip Bo and enjoy a cup of coffee. We have a friendly group of bridge players who welcome new faces. If you cannot come to every session, you may want to add your name to our substitutelist.

SENIOR FUNERCISE Location: Fairchild FirehouseMany senior citizens enjoy our aerobics class designed specifically for your level. They receive the benefits of better muscle tone,increased agility, and an improved cardio-vascular system. In addition to the aerobics, the group learns such fun dances.

 Participation In An Exercise Group Makes The Work More Fun! The group meets every Monday morning at 10:00 AM for anhour with the exception of June, July and August.

SENIOR BINGO 

Location: Morris MewsSenior Bingo is held the last Wednesday of each month at 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM, except for July and August. Come out for anafternoon of fun.

SENIOR BOCCE Location: Hayward Field PlaygroundEnjoy learning how to play the increasingly popular game of BOCCE. Increasing attendance attests to the amount of fun you canhave. The object of the game is to bowl your ball close to the jack. The more balls you have by the jack the more points youscore. For more information call the Parks & Recreation Office at 973-326-7371. The group meets Wednesday mornings at 10:00AM to 12:00 Noon, from May to October.

SENIOR LINE DANCINGLine dancing is a pleasant, mild workout that is a welcomed addition to everyone’s daily routine! With the group shake your

booty and dance your cares away! We will dance to a variety of music. Richard Horblit, a long time dance instructor, will beconducting Line Dancing classes for 10 Mondays, starting March 12th at the Collinsville Fire House at 11:30 AM. Fee is $22.00per person for the 10 weeks. The classes are open to beginners and experienced line-dancers. Interested participants must fill out aregistration form which is available on-line or at the Parks & Recreation Office. Checks are to be mailed to Township of MorrisParks & Recreation Department,

SENIOR PICNICCome join in the fun. Our 25th Annual Senior Picnic is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12th at 12:00 Noon at the Ginty

SPRING & SUMMER ACTIVITIES

YOUTH T-BALLA T-Ball league for boys and girls 5-7 years of age begins the week of April 23rd. Basic skills will be taught, as well as rules of the game. Practices are one day each week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays according to schedules. Games areheld on Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Registration fee is $25.00 per child. There are still some openingsavailable at various fields. Please call the Parks & Recreation Office by April 1st, at 973-326-7371. Team sponsors needed. No

changes will be made to team rosters after April 1st.

GIRL’S SOFTBALL

The Township of Morris Girl’s Softball is about to begin!!! This program is open to all girls in the Township of Morris andMorristown. Sign up for a pressure-free recreation program. Learn the basic skills, make new friends and play recreationalsoftball all while having a lot of fun. Whether you know how to play the game or are just a beginner, come out & join a team nearyour home. STARTING DATE is MONDAY, APRIL 2nd at 4:15 PM for the MINORS (GRADES 2-5). The first four Mondaysare for practices; then games take place on the remaining Mondays through June. If Monday practices or games are rained out,both practices and games will be played on the Wednesday of the same week. Teams Sponsors will provide team shirts and hats.Registration fee is $25.00 per participant.

COACHES SAFETY TRAINING CLINIC

 ATTENTION ALL NEW COACHES! Morris Township encourages that all youth sports coaches take a safety training coursebefore coaching children to be in compliance with the New Jersey’s Little League Law. We offer the Rutgers UniversityS.A.F.E.T.Y. course to fulfill this requirement. The Township of Morris will sponsor a clinic on Thursday, March 29th at theMunicipal Building, 50 Woodland Avenue. The program runs for 3 hours from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM and costs $35 per resident;$40/non-resident. You must register in advance. Please fill out the form in this brochure, make a check payable to Township of 

Morris Parks & Recreation Department, and mail to the address on the form. Seating is limited to 80 participants. Please note:

first-time coaches for Township of Morris programs (T-ball & Girl’s Softball) must take the course. Fees will be paid by

the Township. 

ARBOR DAY CELEBRATIONThe public is invited to join the Parks & Recreation Department on Arbor Day, Friday, April 27th, at 12:00 Noon at Ginty Field.Children from the Woodland School participate and Township Officials plant a tree in celebration of Arbor Day. Call the Parks &Recreation Office for more information at 973-326-7371.

01 SPRING SHOPPING TRIPSince the fall shopping trip has been such a success, shoppers have asked for a spring trip to Reading, PA. We need25 or more people to take advantage of this offer. The bus will leave the municipal building at 8:00 AM on Saturday,April 14th. Fee is $10.00 per person. If interested, please call the Parks & Recreation Office at 973-326-7371.

WOMEN’S SOFTBALL TEAM

Women’s Softball will be starting its twelfth season with Kim Kramer Ganz as coordinator. The 2012 program will continueplaying in the Mendham League and games will be held on Tuesdays starting May 1st and run through July from 6:00 PM to dusk.

02 SPORTS FOR SQUIRTS - SPRING

A Tuesday afternoon program for 3-5 year olds! Starting April 17th through May 29th, instructors from US Sports Institute willintroduce young children to a variety of sports in a safe and structured environment. Emphasis is placed on learning and fun.Classes are one hour in length – 3 to 4 year olds at 3:15 PM and 4 to 5 year olds at 4:15 PM. Class size is limited to 12 and willmeet at the Frelinghuysen/Twin Oaks Field. The fee is $125 per student.

03 SPORTS FOR SQUIRTS - SUMMERWeekly summer programs (see spring Sports for Squirts) for ages 3-5 will be conducted by instructors from US Sports Institute asfollows:

June 18th - June 22nd 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM at GintyField Complex ages 3 - 5. Fee is $85.00.July 9th - July 13th 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at Ginty Field Complex ages 3 - 4. Fee is $85.00.July 9th - July 13th 10:15 AM - 11:45 AM at Ginty Field Complex ages 4 - 5. Fee is $110.00

04 MEN’S VOLLEYBALLLocation: Hillcrest SchoolFor those men who enjoy a night of sports action, a night of volleyball is the solution on Monday evenings at 7:30 PM. This is a

way to keep good body tone. This ongoing program creates challenge and spirit as men test their skills on the court. Sneakers andshorts are strongly recommended. If you have not participated in the fall program, please register on-line. Registration fee is $65.Program ends mid May.

05 YOGA FOR ADULTSYoga with basic Hatha positions, breathing fundamentals, & relaxing exercises will be offered for the spring. Classes will beconducted for 10-weeks on Monday evenings at 7:00 PM, Wednesday mornings at 10:00 AM, or Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PMstarting March 19th and 21st. Registration is $45.00 per person for each 10-week class. Please note: Monday evening classes willbe held at the Collinsville Fire House. Wednesday evening classes will be held at the Hillside Hose Fire House. Wednesdaymorning classes will be held at St. Joseph’s Hall at the College of Saint Elizabeth. A summer session will be held at the Hillside

Hose Fire House starting June 11th at 7:00 PM. Registered Yoga Trainer (RYT), Kathleen Margiotta is the instructor.

06 ADULT GOLF LESSONS 

Learn the basics of golf with our instructor, Mr. Ron Perry, a former FDU golf coach. The golf program, for 18 years of age andolder, is planned to provide residents with the opportunity to learn basic skills, proper grip, stance, posture, swing, and club usage.Golf etiquette will be covered. The activity is designed for two separate levels of play in order to maximize learning for everyone.The six-week course starts Monday, April 23rd for beginners and Wednesday, April 25th for intermediates. Classes will meetfrom 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Ketch Road Field. If a week is canceled due to rain or thunderstorms, the course will be extended tocomplete the six-week session. Registration fee is $45.00 per person.

07 POTTERY FOR CHILDREN - Location to be announced. Our instructor teaches children the basics of this popular craft. Class size is limited to16. Registration fee for this program is$75.00 per student and includes cost of the instructor, materials, & firings. Students will create a project each week. Classes for 5-10 year olds will meet for 6 weeks starting as follows:

Monday, May 7th from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PMSaturday, May 12th from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM 

08 YANKEE GAME TICKETSThe Township of Morris Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee will sponsor its annual trip to Yankee Stadium on August 4th

for the Yankees vs. Seattle Mariners afternoon game. Buses will leave from the Township of Morris, Ginty Field Parking Lot.Departure time, price for tickets, and transportation will be announced. Please call the Parks & Recreation Office at 973-326-7371to reserve seats. Cost is $45.00 per person for ticket and transportation, payable to the Morris Township Parks & RecreationAdvisory Committee.

09 SPRING FAMILY BICYCLE RIDESBicycle riding is a wonderful lifetime fitness sport and Morris Township hosts some of the best bicycle trails in the region. Wewill feature two Spring Family Bicycle Outings on local bike paths. These rides are recommended for ages 9 and above.Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied on the ride by a parent or guardian.

We hit the trail for mostly off-roadway rides through the countryside on paved and gravel surfaced segments of the bikeways.Participants must bring their own bicycle, bicycle helmet, and water. These Family rides are free. Pre-registration is required.

10 TRI-HARDER KID’S TRIATHLON SERIESTownship of Morris Parks & Recreation Department will host the first outing of a four event Triathlon Series for children ages 4through 15. The event is co-sponsored by the Township of Morris Police Department, Marty’s Reliable Cycle, and the Townshipof Morris Manatees Swim Team.

The Township of Morris Tri-Harder Kid’s Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 8:30 AM, beginning at GintyCommunity Swim Pool. Three other Triathlon events for children in this series will be held in Randolph on August 4th, inDenville on August 18th and in Chester Township on September 1st. Check-in for the events will begin at 7:30 AM. Pre-registration is required & event participant numbers are limited so we recommend early registration. The registration fee is $10.00

per child. Register at the Parks & Recreation Dept. office or on-line athttp://www.BikeReg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=12829.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS JULY 12th at 5:00 PM for the Township of Morris event.

The Tri-Harder Kids Triathlon will feature age appropriate swimming at Ginty Pool, a bicycling leg on local neighborhood streetsand distance runs at Ginty Field:

14 CHILDREN’S SPRING TENNIS LESSONSUS Sports Institute will conduct our children’s 2012 tennis programs following US Tennis Association (USTA) curriculums. TheUS Sports Institute (USSI) tennis clinic is a fast and easy way to develop an individual’s skills. The programs offer a wide varietyof drills and games suited to the ability level and age of every person who attends. An enthusiastic staff follows curriculums andguidelines laid out by the USTA, which includes the highly appraised Quickstart Tennis format. At every level, participants willlearn the basic fundamentals in stroke production, court movement and footwork skills, all in a low pressured environment. Mostimportantly it’s all about fun, with games, games and more games during each session!

Tennis classes will meet for 6 Mondays, Tuesdays, or Saturdays as follows:Ages 4 - 6 Saturdays, April 21st to June 2nd from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Mondays, April 23rd to June 4th from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PMAges 7 - 9 Saturdays, April 21st to June 2nd from 9:00 AM - 10:30 PM

Level III - Stroke Readiness - Classes will be in the diving well. Swimmers must be comfortable in deep water. Swimmers willlearn freestyle with face in the water and proper breathing technique, swim elementary back stroke, tread water in diving well, andlearn basic diving skills.

Level IV - Stroke Development - Students swim the width of the pool during class with flutter kick. Swimmers focus on consistentrotary breathing for freestyle, swimmers perfect the backstroke, breaststroke, and diving skills.

Level V - Stroke Refinement - Students swim 2x the width of pool during class, strengthen their endurance for freestyle andbackstroke. Breaststroke, butterfly stroke and kick, and all starts and turns are perfected.

Three (3) Two-Week Instructional Sessions will be conducted at each pool (nine consecutive weekdays with the last day as a

make-up day if needed). The 2012 class schedule is as follows:Session I June 25 to July 6, 2012Session II July 9 to July 20, 2012Session III July 23 to August 3, 2012

Class times are: 10:00 AM - 10:35 AM10:40 AM - 11:15 AM11:20 AM - 11:55 AM

MORRIS TOWNSHIP MANATEES SWIM TEAMThe Morris Township Manatees Swim Team is a recreational summer swim team open to all Morris Township resident childrenages 7 to 18. (Swimmers are required to pass a basic competitive swim skills test before acceptance on the team). It is a

competitive, fun, and exciting swim program that prides itself on team spirit and unity. The 2011 team included more than 150swimmers and competes in the top division in the North Jersey Summer Swim League. The Manatees use both the Ginty andStreeter Pools for practices and swim meets on an alternating basis. Swim Team practices and meets span from early June throughlate July.

The registration fee for the swim team is $50.00 per child. Fees cover coaching and supervision costs. Registration will open atboth the Streeter and Ginty Pools on Saturday, June 2nd from 12 Noon until 3:00 PM. After June 2nd, registration will beaccepted by the Pool Managers during open hours. A Parent’s Meeting will be held with the swim team coaches on Saturday June2nd, to discuss practice and swim meet schedules and expectations.

17 GIRL’S BASKETBALL CLINIC Location: Hillcrest SchoolGirl’s basketball will start on Tuesday, July 9th and run for 2 weeks for ages 7 - 9 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and 10:30 AM to12:00 Noon for ages 10 -13. This program has a fantastic coach! Emphasis will be placed on skills and drills; with games playedeach day. Registration fee is $50 per registrant for 2 weeks.

18 BOY’S BASKETBALL CLINIC Location: Hillcrest SchoolBasketball clinic will start Monday, June 25th to Friday June 29th from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM for ages 8 to13 years; This clinicwill include high quality instruction and game fundamentals. The registration fee is $55.00 per registrant.

19 GIRL’S SOFTBALL CLINICHead instructor, Kristin Gervasio of “Fundamentals Softball Training”, will conduct a clinic for girls entering grades 1

through 6 at Woodland Field the week of June 25th 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Skills to be covered include: throwing,fielding, hitting, bunting, & base running. Games & scrimmages will take place later in the scheduled time. The fee is$80 per child.

20 SUMMER HIKING PROGRAMAn eight week Summer Hiking program for children 8 years and up will begin Friday, July 6th. The group will meet at the GintyField parking lot at 10:00 AM each week and return at 2:00 PM. Participants will explore parks and preserves in the surroundingregion. Each participant should be prepared for a 2-3 hour hike. Please wear sturdy shoes for hiking, bring a bag lunch and water,and sunscreen and bug repellant. Participants will travel by van and be supervised by former Police Chief, Timothy Quinn. Vanspace is limited, so sign up early. Fee is $25 per hiker.

21 THEATRICAL FUN FOR YOUNG PEOPLE Location: Hillcrest SchoolThis program is designed for young people from the ages of 5 - 13. Here is an opportunity to learn all you can about acting,stagecraft, the theater, and have fun at the same time. All facets of the theater, from set decoration to make-up technique, andvarious acting modes are explored. Our program ends with a performance for the parents and general public on Thursday, August4th at the Hillcrest School multipurpose room. Due to the popularity of this program, a class for the pre-teen has been added.Classes meet every day beginning June 25th for 6 weeks. 5-7 year olds meet at 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM, 8 - 10 year olds meet from10:30 AM – 12:00 Noon, & 11-13 year olds meet from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM. Registration fee is $70.00 per student.

22 PRESCHOOL PROGRAMLocation: Hillcrest SchoolThis summer program is for 3 - 5 year olds who are potty trained and want to have fun. Activities include painting, drawing,exercising, and crafting in a creatively safe & dramatic environment. Children have to be 3 years of age by May 1, 2012 to 5years old (not having attended kindergarten). Two sessions will be held each day from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, and 10:45 AM to12:15 PM from June 25th - July 20th. The 3 yr. olds meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays; the 4 and 5 yr. olds meet on Mondays,Wednesdays, and Fridays. Please send juice and snack for your child. 23 GYMNASTICS CLINIC Location: Hillcrest SchoolGymnastics continues to be one of our most popular children’s activities of the summer season. Basic and intermediate skills aretaught in floor exercises: tumbling, uneven parallel bars, the balance beam, and vaulting- all under the supervision of our well-

qualified instructors. Registration fee is $55.00 per child. This program will start Monday, July30th and end Friday, August 10thas follows:

24 CHILDREN’S GOLFA week long golf program provided by US Sports is planned to introduce children to the game of golf. Children will learn basictechniques such as swing, grip, & ball striking using unique & fun training methods. The 1½ hour, 5-day program will take placethe weeks of July 16th and August 6th at Ginty Field. Equipment and t-shirts will be provided. 5 to 7 year olds will meet at 3:30PM to 5:00 PM. 8 - 12 year olds will meet at 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM. Fee is $99 per student.

25 MULTI SPORTS WEEKSUS Sports Institute in affiliation with USTA will conduct 3 one week long multi-sports programs for 5 - 7 year olds from 9:00AM

to 1:00 PM for $145 per child and 8-14 year olds from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for $165.00 per child. The programs will run theweeks of June 18th to June 22nd at Cornine Field and August 13th to August 17th and August 20th to August 24th at the GintyField Complex. All programs will offer a variety of sports in a safe environment. Emphasis is placed on learning, sportsmanship& fun. Equipment & T-shirts will be provided for each child.

26 PONY GROOMING & RIDING PROGRAMAs part of the summer playground program, Ponyshare will offer 3 sessions for children ages 4 to 13. Each session will meet for 1week as follows:

Session I: July 9th to 13th , Session II: July 23rd to 27th, Session III: August 27th to 31st7 years & up (½ day camp) at 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM for $290 per child3 - 7 year olds at 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM for $190.00 per child.7 -13 year olds at 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM for $230 per child

 SUPERVISED SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAMA wide variety of supervised activities for children will be held during our six-week summer playground program. Playgroundswill open Monday, June 25th and continue through Friday, August 3rd. Please note that all playgrounds will be closed July 4th incelebration of the July 4th holiday. All playgrounds will have many special events, contests and tournaments, plus additionalactivities such as arts and crafts, baseball, softball, basketball, kickball, soccer, bocce, and other games. Consult playgrounddirectors for the time of special events and instructional activities. A story hour and books will be available on all playgroundsthrough the courtesy of the Joint-Free Public Library of Morristown-Morris Township Book Mobile.

June 25th to discuss fire safety and explore a fire vehicle.

POLICE PROTECTION - The week of July 2nd a member of the Morris Township Police Department will visit our playgrounds

and explain to the children about 911, buckle up for safety, bike safety, and show them a police car.

TOUCH A TRUCK - Do large trucks and vehicles interest your youngsters? Want to investigate a police car & climb into a fire

truck? Find out where rubbish goes when thrown in the back of a garbage truck? These vehicles & trucks, such as road & sewe

equipment with bucket haulers will be at Ginty Field for a hands-on inspection. The program will be held on Thursday, July 19 t

from 9:30 AM to 12:00 Noon.

VOLUNTEER IN TRAINING PROGRAM This program is for 15 year olds who are too young to be employed, but are willing to VOLUNTEER their time in Recreationactivities in order to gain hands-on experience. Successful volunteers, upon turning 16, may have the opportunity to work in ourfuture programs. If interested, please stop by the Parks and Recreation Office to apply.

Practice begins in early August; weekly games start in early September, and continue thru mid-November.The Club offers Flag football for 6 & 7 year olds while the tackle program is for 8 to 14 years olds. Cheerleading is offered for 6to 14 years olds. All programs slowly prepare kids for high school level competition focusing on fundamentals. MORRISTOWN COLONIALS JUNIOR LACROSSE CLUBThe Morristown Junior Colonials Lacrosse program provides a spring lacrosse program open to players located in Morris

Township, Morristown and Morris Plains. The season runs from March through mid June. Online registration is available fromNovember through January at www.morristownlacrosse.org. The program consists of clinic level and travel teams based on ageand grade levels as described below:

Clinic Program: Instructional program for boys and girls in grades K-2. The program is an introduction to lacrosse andits skills and meets usually on Sunday afternoons from April through mid June.

Travel Program: Available for boys only in grades 3 to 8, the program focuses on building strong basic skills andunderstanding game situations. This program requires the use of full equipment. Travel teams normally practice on Tuesdaysand Thursdays and play games against other towns on Saturdays and Sundays.

LADY COLONIALS LACROSSE CLUB (Affiliated with the Morristown Colonials Junior Lacrosse Club) The goal of the Lady Colonials is to promote lacrosse among girls in the Greater Morristown Area and to expand the fastestgrowing sport’s appeal to a broad range of players. We feel strongly that this is best accomplished by promoting fun,sportsmanship, confidence, equal play, and to foster Love for the Game! Our program is designed to accommodate both girlswho have extensive lacrosse experience and girls who have never picked up a stick.

There will be three teams representing grades 3 & 4, 5 & 6, and 7 & 8. Practices or games against local towns are held twice aweek with an additional practice that is optional. The season runs between mid-March till the end of May and practices and gamesstart after 6:00 PM. To register for the upcoming season, please go to www.morrislacrosse.org. MORRIS UNITED SOCCER CLUB RECREATIONAL & TRAVEL DIVISIONSThe Morris United Soccer Club provides recreational, travel, and academy soccer programs to over 1500 children in Morristown,Morris Township, Morris Plains and the surrounding towns. Morris United is a private, non-profit club that works closely with thelocal recreation departments and school districts to provide and maintain fields and facilities for the program.

The Recreational Division program is open to all children 4 to 14 years of age with play in the fall season. Registration for the fallseason is done through the Club website at www.morrisunited.com. Registration closes in late June of each year. Parents who donot have access to the Internet from home can use the free internet access at the Morris County public library. Teams in the Travel Division are formed for ages U9 through U12. Teams play in spring and fall seasons. Tryouts for travel

teams are held in early May. Information on travel teams and tryout dates is available on the Club website atwww.morrisunited.com. The 10-game fall season begins after Labor Day & ends in early November. The 10-game spring seasonbegins in April & ends mid-June. Practice is twice a week. This is not a recreational program. At this level of play the emphasisis instructional, but at a higher competitive level. The number of interested players will determine the number of teams in each

THE MO-TOWN GRAPPLER’S CLUBThe primary purpose for this organization is to prepare our wrestlers to compete in competitions and tournaments that qualifythem for New Jersey Kid’s State Wrestling Tournament, and other official USA Wrestling tournaments at the national level.

The Club is open to all athletes in the Morristown, Morris Township, and Morris Plains area (1st – 8th grade). Practices are heldat the Frelinghuysen Middle School. 1st & 2nd graders practice twice per week. December & January. 3rd graders and abovepractice three times per week. November & February. MORRISTOWN TRAVEL BASKETBALL LEAGUEThe League works to develop a premier, fundamentals-based youth basketball program in Morris County, focused onsportsmanship, integrity, academic achievement and basketball skills. The program is open to area youth in Grades 4 through 8.Organized by the Town of Morristown Recreation Department, the Travel Basketball League has a two-tier fee structure withlower fees for Morristown residents. MORRISTOWN RUGBYMorris Rugby sponsors several local summer youth rugby programs. Morristown Colonials Flag Rugby is a coed, non-contact,form of rugby using flags for kids entering Kindergarten through 9 th grade (10th grade for girls). Morristown Colonials Tackle 7s

Rugby is offered to girls and boys entering 5th through 9th grade. All programs are run as clinics, with two evening practices and

Saturday morning matches scheduled against neighboring towns. We know its summer, so we keep things low key - thecommitment level is entirely up to you!Practices for all ages will be held at the Woodland School fields beginning in June and ending with the Morris Youth RugbyFestival in July in Chester Township. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from6:00 PM -7:30 PM.
