Get To Work Resumes with Paula Rueger

Tuesday, April 7th, 7-8 p.m. Paula Rueger, a Certified Professional Resume Writer, will provide instruction on how to write a winning resume. Registration is required and begins on Monday, March 23rd. Program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Zentangle with Jill Greenbaum Wednesday, April 15th, 7-8 p.m. Create miniature pieces of unplanned, abstract, black and white art through a very specific method. Gayle Gruenberg Thursday, April 16th, 7-8:30 p.m. Gayle Gruenberg is a highly experienced Professional Organizer with over 11 years in the business of helping people get organized! This program will cover organizing and downsizing your possessions at any age!

Learn to Play American Mah Jongg with Amy Lynn Wednesday, April 22nd & 29th, 7-8 p.m.

Amy Lynn will be teaching beginner Mah Jongg! National League rules will be taught. The basics such as tile identification, card interpretation and how to pick a hand will be covered. Sunday Afternoon Concert: Tenor Sal Chiarelli Sunday, April 12th, 2-3 p.m.

World class tenor, Salvatore Chiarelli, is coming to the Library to sing popular, traditional and Neapolitan songs. He will be accompanied by pianist Ishmael Wallace. Don’t miss this delightful afternoon of music. Program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Live Your Dream: Create a Blueprint for your Desires with Melissa Canter

Thursday, April 23rd, 1-2:30 p.m.

Jump into Spring on the right track! Join life coach Melissa Canter and create your own vision board. Bring a photo of yourself or images that you would like to use. Magazines will be provided. Registration is required and begins Wednesday, April 1st.

Friday Morning Book Club Meets at 10 a.m.

The Mike Luipersbeck Trio Sunday, May 3rd, 2-3 p.m.

Jazz drummer Mike Luipersbeck and his all-star Trio are coming to celebrate Spring with this concert. The Trio also includes piano prodigy Peter Greco and bassist Ron Naspo. They will play numbers from Broadway, the Great American Songbook and more! Program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Cuba: Is it Alright to Travel There? presented by Rick Feingold Thursday, May 14th, 7-8:30 p.m. It is now legal to travel to Cuba. This program will explore Cuban history, the Ernest Hemingway sites, Cuban baseball and more. If you are thinking of traveling to Cuba or are just interested in learning about the island, be sure to attend this program.

Sunday Afternoon Concert: Hiroya Tsukamoto Sunday, May 31st, 2-3 p.m. Hiroya Tsukamoto, a guitarist and composer originally from Kyoto, is coming to the Library! He has played all over the world and will perform original acoustic works as well as some traditional Japanese folk songs.

APRIL-MAY An Afternoon with the Ashley Pettet Trio Sunday, April 26th, 2-3 p.m. Ms. Pettet’s distinguished career has brought her all over the world. Her music brings a fresh approach to well-known standards and popular music, blending traditional jazz elements with a modern twist.

Life Transitions for People Over 50 with Gayle Gruenberg Thursday, April 30th, 7-8:30 p.m. Being over 50 brings Life Transitions that are different from any other time in life. Gayle Gruenberg will speak about being newly single, being divorced, retirement and other challenges that may present themselves when you are over 50. This session will help you get organized and gain insight.

Allegro Singers present Mostly Tchaikovsky Sunday, May 17th, 3-4 p.m. The Allegro Singers present Mostly Tchaikovsky: A 175th Anniversary. Tchaikovsky’s beautiful music has enchanted the world for over 100 years and it will enchant you. This program includes beloved numbers from the famous Russian composer. The History and Origin of Mother’s Day with Maryanne Mistretta Thursday, May 7th, 7-8 p.m. Ever wonder how Mother’s Day began? Or

how it is celebrated around the world? Then come to this discussion of educational and fun facts all about this special day.

“Avoiding Investment Fraud" with Katerina R. Mantell of the Investor Advocacy Project Thursday, April 23rd, 7-8 p.m.

The IAP provides legal help to small investors who have disputes with their financial advisers. Their mission is to educate, provide explanations of financial concepts and review best practices for dealing with financial professionals.

The Magic of Folklore with Pianists Matthew Harrison and Vlada Yaneva Sunday, June 7th, 2-3 p.m. Be transported by the magic of Eastern European folk music when these talented pianists perform works by Brahms, Chopin and other composers. Program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Tea 101: An Introduction to Loose Leaf Tea and Making Homemade Iced Tea Tuesday, June 9th, 7-8:30 p.m. Nina Androski from Tealightful Tea will help you beat the summer heat with refreshing iced teas. Participants will learn about different types of tea and the health benefits they have. There will also be a tea tasting! Registration is required and begins on Tuesday, May 26th.

Origami with Linda Bogan Thursday, June 25th, 7-8 p.m. The art of Origami (Japanese paper folding) is a beautiful, calming activity. Linda Bogan will show you how to make your very own origami pieces. Registration is required and begins on Monday, June 8th.

JUNE

Join the 1st Annual Summer Reading Club for Adults! Sign up at the reference desk beginning the week of June 29th to get your reading log. Each time you complete a

book, come to the Library with your log and get your name entered in a raffle for a grand prize! On August 3rd at 4 p.m. attend an End of Summer party where the winner will be announced and refreshments will be served. Open to Franklin Lakes residents.

Jane Austen Movie Festival June 10th, 11th & 12th @ 1 p.m. Before our Jane Austen program on June 14th, we are celebrating Austen’s works

on screen with an Austen Movie Festival! Be sure to join us each afternoon for a delightful, witty film. Refreshments will be served.

Meet Deborah Yaffe author of, Among the Janeites: A Journey Through the World of Jane Austen Fandom.

Ms. Yaffe will discuss the world of rabid Jane Austen fans-the people who wear Regency costumes to Jane Austin festivals & spend hours arguing about Mr. Darcy’s love life! Books will be available for purchase and her autograph!

Do you enjoy PBS’s Antique Roadshow, well here is your chance to have your own item appraised by Martine White, Senior Certified Appraiser of Antiques & Decorative Arts, of Bernard’s Appraisal Associates. Only 50 people will be permitted to bring one item for Ms. White to appraise Space is limited! Registration is required and begins on Monday, June 8th.
