Charity Poker Tournament Raises Funds

for Local Nonprofits

The Fountain Valley Community Foundation will host the semi-annual Charity Poker Tournament on Saturday March 5th. This charity event raises important funds for many non-profit organizations serving Fountain Valley. When players register and pay their $50 entry fee they are asked to select a participating non-profit organization. At the end of the event the Foundation sends a check to each organization in the amount of $60 per player. This means that this event is so successful that The Foundation is able to donate 120% of the entry fee back to the participating non-profits. This will be our 27th poker tournament where we have raised over $600,000. If you would like to participate you can register to play at http://fvcommunityfoundation.org/charity-poker-tournament/

Relay for Life Luminaria Ceremony

The FV Community Foundation will again sponsor the Luminaria for this years Relay for Life-FV. The Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 14th at 9pm at the FVHS Track. The Luminaria Ceremony is a time to remember people we have lost to cancer, support people who currently have cancer, and to honor people who have fought cancer in the past. The power of this ceremony lies in providing an opportunity for people to work through grief and find hope. You can purchase a luminary for $10 to honor your loved one prior to the event. Our volunteers will be also decorating and selling luminaria during the day on Saturday, May 14th (at the event). For more information on the luminaria ceremony please call 714-593-4670 or send an email to [email protected].
