from 9.00am to 12.45pm. There is no school on Friday 28th June, however, all students are expected to attend their interview. This is an important time to discuss your child’s progress and celebrate his/her achievements. Mr Zito is on leave on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th June. As a result, he will be holding his Parent/Teacher interviews on Tuesday 25th June from 3.45pm to 6.45pm and Wednesday 26th June 9.00am to 12.45pm. Confirmation letters for your parent/teacher interview times were sent home with reports.
Congratulations to Tayah who participated in the Regional Cross Country Championships at Winton last Wednesday. She finished 28th in her age group which is a fantastic effort.
We are very proud of you Tayah! Just as a side note regarding Cross Country, Edie Kerr (one of our past students) qualified for State at this event. Congratulations Edie, your persistence has paid off!
This Thursday 27th June I will be hosting my annual free Sausage Sizzle to celebrate our Semester 1 achievements. Orders have now closed. Thank you for the prompt return of order forms, it certainly makes it easy for catering. If your child does not eat sausages then they bring their lunch as usual. Please note: there will be no hot lunches.
Our Scholastic Book Fair finishes this Wednesday 26th June. Once again it has
been well supported by our school community which is fantastic to see. A big thank you to Mrs O who has been looking after and manning our Book Fair. She also looks after our Book Club throughout the year. Thanks Mrs O!
Over these holidays it is a good opportunity for students to check and re-stock their stationery supplies ready for Semester 2.
This time of the year things have run out, are lost, been broken or are full and need to be replaced. Please check with your teacher’s and make a list of what you need. Also make sure your Art smocks go home for a wash and freshen up too. Miss H’s Holiday Challenge: over the holidays read a good book and after the holidays share it with me or better still, convince me I need to read it!
A couple of weeks ago we had an unannounced Outside School Hours Care Audit. We have received a Report of this visit and there are a few things that we need to address. We have until the 4th
July to show evidence that steps have been taken to address these issues.
Congratulations to Keturah Nelson & Marcus Clough on the safe arrival of Sloan Marcus last week. Sloan is a little brother
for Tikaani. We wish you all the best!
Thanks to Peter Blake and Bob Scott for mowing our grounds over the weekend.
Term 2 has been quite a busy term with lots of things happening including: our Swimming Program, NAPLAN, Education Week Celebrations, Election Day Cake Stall & BBQ, Bunnings BBQ, Pizza Lunch and a very productive Working Bee. Thank you everyone for a productive and successful Semester 1. It is time to indulge in some R & R to recharge those batteries ready for Semester 2. Debbie Humphries Proud Principal of KCPS

K.C.P.S. Footy Tipping Competition 2019
Talking Footy with Magic Magpies
Round 14 Wrap
The third week of the bye rounds started on Thursday night when the Eagles took on the
Bombers at Optus Oval. A wasteful West Coast dominated a listless Essendon winning
by 35 points. The scoreboard flattered the Bombers, with the Eagles throwing away a
percentage-boosting opportunity in the 14.22 (106) to 11.5 (71) win.
On Friday night it was the Swans up against the Hawks at home. When Sydney’s
superstar Lance Franklin succumbed to a left hamstring injury late in the third quarter,
alarm bells were ringing. It was a dour affair, but the Swans were nevertheless thrilled
to continue its resurgence after a disappointing start to the season, grinding out a 12.10
(82) to 9.9 (63) win over the Hawks.
On Saturday afternoon the Demons 13.7 (85) defeated the Dockers 11.5 (71) at the MCG.
The Demons kicked 4 goals to one in the final quarter to snap a four match losing streak
but remains in the bottom four. The Dockers are just one win, plus ample percentage,
ahead of the pack who are outside the top 8. Glad to see DEEscraceful was loyal to her
Dees tipping them to win!
An electrifying equal career high five goal haul from small forward Charlie Cameron
sparked the Lions to its first win over the Saints at Marvel Stadium in 19 years ~ a 56
points annihilation on Saturday. Final scores were the Lions (17.13) to the Saints 8.11
(59).
Power’s bold selection shocks sparked the Power into action, stunning ladder leader the
Cats by 11 points at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
The Power showed plenty of heart to emerge triumphant from an enthralling arm
wrestle, getting home 9.13 (67) to 8.8 (56) in front of a jubilant crowd. The Cats poor
record after a bye continues to haunt them.
On Sunday at Marvel Stadium the Bulldogs hosted the Magpies. The Pies have made a
habit of winning games this year when not at its best. They shrugged off a persistent
Bulldogs outfit to win by 9 points. The 13.4 (82) to 10.13 (73) scoreline underpins the
tight contest that unfolded in one of the Bulldogs most impressive games of the season,
despite the result. Magic Magpies is very happy that her beloved Pies find themselves a
game clear in 2nd position on the ladder.
Footy Tipping Stars of the Week ~ for Round 14 ~ DEEScraceful who was the only one to
tipped 6! There were a huge number of tippers who picked 4 including ladder leader
Narkle who is being hotly pursued by Pie Time and Tradie Sam.
Footy Tipping Ladder Leaders –~ at the completion of Round 14: Narkle on 80, Pie Time
on 79, Tradie Sam on 78, on 77 is the Fairy Princess, on 76 are Curtis Laidlaw and
Digger’s Rooboys with the The Bolt and Tom Will Do on 75.
During the byes no one managed to tip all games correctly in two consecutive rounds.
e.g.: Round 12 & 13 or 13 & 14., so the Jackpot remains untouched at $125:00.
PLEASE NOTE ... This week Rounds 15, 16 and 17 are due on Thursday 27th June as there is a game
between the Bombers and Giants on Thursday night which sees the return of a full
round of footy. It is also School Holiday time and all tippers need to tip in advance.
Good tipping everyone and go Pies!
