I am sure you will agree that is a fantastic achievement. The children experienced different activities related to modern farming and future technology that will advance agriculture in the future. I would like to share a report written by some of the pupils who attended the event: …On Thursday 6 th June 2019, twelve people from Gardening Club had the opportunity to visit the South of England Show. When we arrived, we were welcomed by Reg who was our tour guide. Firstly, Reg took us to see the goats. There were different interesting breeds. We even saw a goat with a beard! After that, we saw some tiny chicks. They were all born last Monday! We all got to hold one. One of them was the loudest, but the most minute. Next, we saw the most immense pig - her belly was nearly touching the floor. Surprisingly, she came first! One of our favourite animals were the rabbits. When we walked in, we saw a grey, fluffy rabbit. You couldn’t see her eyes because of all the fur. She was called “Messy.” We then went to a sheep shearing demonstration and got to feel the fleece. After the sheep shearing we moved over to the weaving. We all had a go at making our own wool. Next we went to the Stem Learning Education. One of the first activities was a Reflex Test to see how fast your reflexes can go. Then we did a Virtual Reality and then Aaron fell over! Then it was time for lunch. While we were eating we watched a Motorbike Stunt Show. They did loads of backflips. Forest School was the next activity and we made a wooden necklace and a wooden wand with seashells, clams and starfish. We used a palm drill to drill a hole in the wood used for the necklace. Then we attached the string through the hole. It was time to see if we had won. Surprisingly, we came first twice in The Dream Catcher and The Pots Full of Joy inspired by Aboriginal Art. Finally, it was time to see the young farmers’ creations. Sadly it was now time to go home… written by Katie and Gemma, Y5.

Dear Parents,

South of England Agricultural Show.

Selected pupils from our Gardening club visited the South of England Agricultural show in Ardingly on Thursday

with Mrs Rogers, Mrs Hewitt and Mr Mould. I was delighted to hear on their return, we had won 1st prize in two

categories: plant potting and dreamcatcher, as well as this, one of our Y4 pupils was awarded a 3rd prize Rosette

for their painting of a landscape using natural materials. I am sure you will agree that is a fantastic achievement.

The children experienced different activities related to modern farming and future technology that will advance

agriculture in the future.

I would like to share a report written by some of the pupils who attended the event:
