Important Information This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installation of Amadeus software on to your agency’s personal computers.

You will already have received details of the Amadeus Software Certificates (Amadeus CID’s) that have been allocated to your office.

! An Amadeus CID must be installed on each PC that will be accessing the Amadeus system

! Each PC must have its own, unique, Amadeus CID

The process will take approximately 20-30 minutes for each PC, depending on your experience.

In the unlikely event that you experience any difficulty loading Amadeus Software on to your PC’s, please call the Amadeus Help Desk.

Before You Start

��A copy of these instructions

��A list of the Amadeus CID numbers to be installed

��Internet access on each PC to be installed

��Access with Administrator rights on each PC A. Windows Vista

! You MUST log on to your PC as “Administrator” ��You will need the Administrator password to do this

B. Windows 2000 and Windows XP ! Your personal login must have “Administrator” rights.

��See Appendix ‘A’ to find out if you have Administrator rights. OR ! You must log on to your PC as “Administrator”

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

YOU CANNOT INSTALL AMADEUS SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE NOT LOGGED INTO YOUR PC WITH ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS!

AMADEUS CANNOT CREATE OR CHANGE ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS OR CHANGE YOUR USER GROUP PERMISSIONS!

Step 1 – Check Active-X Controls

This step is only needed for PC’s using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7)

Go straight to Step 2 if the PC does not use IE7

! Before attempting to install an Amadeus Software Certificate, you must make sure that your Internet browser is able to accept ActiveX controls.

! You will not be able to install and use Amadeus Software until this is done!

! Open up an Internet browser page ! Click on Tools �� Select Internet Options�

��Select the Security Tab - click on Internet then click on Custom Level

��You will now see a long scrollable list of settings looking like this

��Scroll through these settings and make sure that the settings are exactly as per the

following table. To change a setting, just click on the appropriate “radio button”. Section Item Setting

��When you have checked/changed the settings, press the OK button to save settings and return to the Security tab

��You must now repeat the checking process for both Local Intranet and Trusted Sites

��When you have finished checking/changing the settings for Internet, Local Intranet and

Trusted sites, press the Apply and then the OK button to save and confirm all settings. You will now be returned to the Internet browser.

Step 2 – Setup Internet Browser Security ! Before attempting to install an Amadeus Software Certificate, you must make sure that

Amadeus is recognised as a “Trusted Site” within your Internet browser.


! Open up an Internet browser page ! Click on Tools �� Select Internet Options�

��Click on the Security tab ! Click the Trusted sites circle, then click the “Sites” button

�




��Type *.amadeusvista.com into the “Add this web site to the zone” box, then click the “Add” button

! Make sure the “Require Server Verification” box is NOT checked ! Click OK to save the settings and exit “Trusted Sites”. �� Your preferences will be saved, and *.amadeusvista.com will now show as a Trusted

site.�� Click OK again to apply the new settings, exit Internet Options, and return to your

browser�

Step 2 – Setup Internet Browser Security Is now completed

Please go to Step 3




Step 3 – Register Amadeus Software Certificates ! An Amadeus Software Certificate (Amadeus CID) must be installed on each PC that will

be accessing the Amadeus system

! Each PC must have its own, unique, Amadeus CID


! Make sure the browser Address Bar is visible. If you cannot see your browsers Address Bar, go to the View menu item in your browser, click Toolbars, then click Address Bar.

! Confirm that the PC is connected to the internet before proceeding

��To register your Amadeus Software Certificate, type the following address (URL) into your Internet browser http://certificates.amadeusvista.com/sgwadmin and press Enter

! Enter the Amadeus CID number in the second blue box

! Remember, each PC must have its own, unique, Amadeus CID

! Click Submit request.




! After a few moments, you will see confirmation that registration of the Amadeus Software Certificate was successful.

Step 2 – Register Amadeus Software Certificates Is now completed.

Your PC will automatically start downloading the

Amadeus Selling Platform!

Please go to Step 4




Step 4 – Download Amadeus Selling Platform ! The download will start automatically as soon as you have successfully registered your

Amadeus Software Certificate (the Amadeus CID).

! While software is downloading you will see a blue box with a “timer” symbol in your PC’s Task Bar (the bottom right corner of your PC screen).

! When the download is complete, the blue box will change and look like this

��The Amadeus Automatic Update process will now start downloading and installing the software. Progress is shown at the bottom of the screen. ! You do not need to press the “Check Updates” button to start this software

! While the software is being downloaded, you can:

�� Confirm which Amadeus CID is being installed

�� See what files are being downloaded

��Press the Ctrl+Shift+F1 keys simultaneously ! To see the Amadeus CID installed on this PC – Select the “Support” tab

��To see the files being downloaded to this PC – Select the “Logs” tab

! Click the Update tab to return to the standard download screen

! You are now nearing the end of the Amadeus software installation.

��Press “Continue” when you see this message

��Press “Continue” again when you see this message




��Press “OK” again when you see this message

Step 4 – Download Amadeus Selling Platform Is now completed.

Please go to Step 5




Step 5 – Sign-In To Amadeus Selling Platform

��Make sure the Amadeus box is showing in your PC’s task bar (the bottom right corner of your PC screen)

! If the Amadeus box is not showing in your Task Bar, you will not be able to launch

Amadeus Selling Platform. Try re-booting your PC. If the Amadeus box is still missing, please call the Amadeus Help Desk for assistance.

��Open an Internet Browser ! Select the Amadeus address from your browser favourites or enter one of the

following addresses into your browser Address Bar: http://amadeusvista.com

http://1a.amadeusvista.com

��Click “Launch Amadeus Selling Platform”




��Enter your personal sign in code (and password if appropriate) then click “Sign In” ! Your Amadeus Account Manager will have given you this information ready for your

first installation. ! Your local office administrator will provide this information for all subsequent

installations.

��You are now signed in to Amadeus

You have now successfully installed Amadeus Selling Platform and

Appendix A – Check Administrator Permission On A PC

Applies to Windows XP and Windows 2000 Only STEP 1 – ACCESS CONTROL PANEL

��Click the Start button ( or ) in the bottom left corner of your screen to open the Start Menu.

! Note: The layout and content of the Start Menu can vary from user to either

��Click “Control Panel” Or

��“Settings” then “Control Panel”

STEP 2 – CHECK USER PERMISSION

��Click on “Users and Passwords” to open the Users and Passwords pop-up

��Now look for the User Name (login) you used when you started the PC and check what user Group you have been granted

��Press ‘OK’ to exit

Remember…… you can only install Amadeus Selling Platform software if you have logged in with Administrators group permission.

If you have not logged in with Administrators group permission, you must logout of your PC and login again using another User Name with the correct permission level.

PLEASE NOTE: AMADEUS CANNOT CHANGE YOUR USER GROUP PERMISSIONS!
