SMP-3 Solid-State Overload Relay Automatic/Manual Reset, Field Selectable Trip Class 10, 15, 20 or 30,Jam Protection, Ground Fault Tripping, and Communications Capability ➊

STARTER MOUNT — For Installation on Allen-Bradley NEMA Starters

➊ Ground Fault Tripping is inhibited for approximately 30 seconds to eliminate the possibility of nuisance tripping during motor starting.➋ Allen-Bradley recommends using 120 or 240V AC coils on all SMP-3 NEMA Starters. When using coil voltages other than 120 or 240V AC,

consult your local Allen-Bradley Sales Office.➌ The ratings of the triacs and the hard output contact (relay) internal to the SMP-3 must not be exceeded. See the SMP-3 User’s Manual for actual

ratings, or consult page 1-184 for specifications.➍ For NEMA starter sizes 0 through 2, a new mounting plate is required for retrofit to existing Bulletin 509 starters. For sizes 0 through 1 starters,

order Part No. 40794-031-02, and for size 2 starter order Part No. 40794-032-02.➎ These SMP-3 overload relays have an interposing relay with a 120V AC coil, see wiring diagram on page 1-183. Consult your local Allen-Bradley

Sales Office if using on reversing or two-speed applications. For 240V AC coil, change the letter D to A. Example: Cat. No. 592-C1NFA.

⊗⊗⊗⊗ Voltage Suffix CodeThe Cat. No. as listed is incomplete. Select a Voltage Suffix Code from the table below to complete the Cat. No. Example: Cat. No. 592P-C1RG⊗becomes Cat. No. 592P-C1RGD.

See the SMP-3 User’s Manual for actual

ratings, or consult page 1-184 for specifications.➍ These SMP-3 overload relays have an interposing relay, see wiring diagram on page 1-183. Consult your local Allen-Bradley Sales Office if using

on reversing or two-speed applications.
