GeneralThe 3RB10 overload relays form partof the new SIRIUS 3R control genera-tion. The solid-state version of the SIR-IUS 3R overload relay is noted for itswide overload ranges (setting ratio 4 :1 ) ,for the phase loss protection (see char-acteristic curves) and also for the mini-mal energy requirement. In terms ofdimensions and termination, the solid-state (3RB10) and the thermally delayedtypes ( 3 R U 1 1 ) are 100% compatible.Conformal coating of the printed-circuitboard and of the electronic componentsassures reliable operation even inaggressive and tropical atmospheresFour sizes and two variants are availableup to 100A The overload relays areoptimally matched, both electrically andmechanically, to the 3RT10 contactors.They can, however, also be mountedseparately with an adapter for installa-tion as a single unit. Devices up to andincluding size SO can be fitted on stan-dard mounting rails without using tools.Application3RB10 solid-state overload relays pro-vide overload protection for three-phaseinduction motors with rated currents ofup to 100A.For short-circuit protection with fuses orcircuit-breakers, the fusing values of thecontactors must be taken into account.OperationThe solid-state overload relays havebeen developed for use in sinusoidal')0/60Hz voltage networks. No additionaluower supply is required for operation.Current transformers (for measurement)are already integrated. A microprocessorchecks the current values of each phaseand initiates release in the event ofoverload or phase failure.The tripping current corresponds to1 1 0 % of the set current.The overload relay must be set to therated motor current. _ .outTrip classesThe devices are available in CLASS 10 '(motor starting times up to 10 s) and in

If a phase loss occurs, the devicetrips within 3 seconds.STOP functionActivating this function only affects theNC contact, momentarily changing thestate of the contact.Manual/automatic resetManual or automatic reset can beselected with the blue button. Auxiliary contacts IThe overload relays are equipped with aNC contact for disconnecting the con-tactor and a NO contact for signallingtripping.

The breaking capacity of the switchingcontacts is very high so that the contac-tor coils can be switched directly.MountingThe overload relays are mounted direct-ly on the 3RT10 contactors. If they arefitted individually on a connector base,they can be fastened by means ofscrews or placed on a mounting rail.The connector bases of the 3RU11thermally delayed relays can be used.AccessoriesThe accessories of the 3RU11 thermaloverload relays can be used for the3RB10 solid-state overload relays.• Reset plunger to extend the through-
