  • What is a smoothie bike? This is a bicycle that you pedal so that you can make a smoothie drink in a blender which is attached to the bike.

  • We hired a smoothie bike for our summer fair. This cost approximately 125 for the weekend. (prices may have changed this year) It came in a bike size box and the site manager and I easily assembled it the night before the fair. We hired a front blender bike so the children could see what they were blending when they peddled. The time consuming aspect was preparing all the fruit before hand so we allowed quite bit of time for this.

  • Before the our summer fair, I did two assemblies with the Infant School about healthy living, making smoothies and learning to ride bicycles. The smoothie bike was an exciting way for the children to see the relationship between all these themes. This year I am going to do a smoothie competition so that the top three are featured on our smoothie menu!

  • The Travel Plan team gave us lots of bikability and sustainable travel promotional material which we attached to our gazebo and then distributed with each smoothie.

  • Our fantastic Moss Hall Schools Association managed to get most of the fruit for the smoothies donated by a local business. I was joined in my Smoothie Bike adventure by Travel Plan Champions Jenny Luke from Moss Hall Junior School and Jane Ouseley from Moss Hall Nursery in the end we had quite a lot of volunteers and loads of customers! We raised nearly 300 on this stall which is apparently the most a smoothie stall has ever made at the fair.
