Slovenia – Why not as an incentive destination?For many of you Slovenia is perceived as an emerging destination. Despite the country is member of the EU for more than a decade and having EURO as the currency for more than 7 years. Slovenia is also part of the Schengen agreement.

New incentive centre of Europe When the Editorial Board of Kongres magazine in 2008 published first Tips for Incentives for Ljubljana and the region of Central Slovenia, it contained 70 attractive programs.

The Book, which is in front of you presents over 100 attractive programs which are hard to find anywhere in Europe.

Slovenia is full of interesting incentive destinations that have developed a coun-terweight to the congress “factories”. A growing number of organizers wants new, authentic experiences in contact with nature and culture and with elements of “edutainment”.

We are pleased to note that innovations are complemented by the superb culinary experience that is not always measured by Michelin stars, but by quality and sincere concern for the guest. In addition, the main factor of surprises is the atmosphere created by the surroundings, nature, cultural heritage which evokes sense of famil-iarity and prestige. Some peculiarities of global phenomena are also in the region such as events in the bosom of the Postojna Cave. Slovenian event organizers can still afford to pamper each participant.

The new luxury is authentic and from the view of congress participants very much experienced story. Organizers connect with participants in a way that makes it very difficult to say goodbye when leaving. Creating boutique events is demanding, but richly rewarded journey.

Itinerary

9:00 Arrival to Ljubljana Airport.

9:15 Old-timer cars awaiting in front of the Airport and departure for Bled, driving on scenic local roads.

10:15 Arrival to Bled castle, where the group can observe the functioning of historic printing press (the documents imprint the information about the event which participant get to keep), botelling of wine (that participants can keep) and a medieval sword duel.

11:00 After refreshment the group walks down to the lake where they have bi-cycles waiting for the participants and they have to follow a trail (which can include teambuilding elements) that leads them to the traditional “Pletna” boats.

12:00 Departure of boats to the Bled island to visit the Church and where addi-tional teambuilding elements can be incorporated.

13:00 The boats bring the group to the Vila Bled, once a residence of president Tito. There lunch is served at the terrace.

15:00 The cars wait for the group in front of Vila Bled and the group departs toward Ljubljana.

16:15 After driving on the scenic roads the group arrives to Ljubljana to the hotel where after check-in the group is given some free time.

18:30 The group has a short walk to the funicular that takes them to Ljubljana castle, where at the viewing platform they have the aperitif with views over the city. This is followed by dinner at privatised Strelec restaurant, one of the most exclusive restaurants in the country. A variety of musical enter-tainment can be included in the pro-gramme of the dinner.

22:00 Return to the hotel and optional visit of bars and clubs in the old city.

10:00 Meeting in the hotel lobby and the start of special treasure hunt around the Ljubljana historic city centre, that includes discovering interesting spaces, foods and drinks related to the area.

13:00 Finish of the challenge is at the Ljubljana market, where a light lunch with show cooking is served in a priva-tised area.

14:30 A ship waits for the participants at the marketplace and takes the group for a ride on the Ljubljanica river.

15:30 The bus waits for the group.

16:00 Arrival at Dvor Jezeršek estate where the participants are shown how to prepare bread. Each makes his per-sonalised loaf and places it in the old oven. Refreshment is served to the participants.

17:10 The baked bread is given to the partic-ipants to take home

17:20 Departure of the bus to the airport.

EXPERIENCING THE ROMAN CITY OF EMONAThe remains of Ljubljana’s predecessor, the ancient Roman city of Emona, can still be found right in the city centre. Dressed in Roman attire, guests can experience a tinge of its past history and lifestyle in the company of an Emonan citizen and a Roman legionary.

HORSEBACK RIDING IN NADIŽA VALLEYAlpin Action has its own horseback riding trips. We also organize riding trips for beginners as well as for experienced riders. The magnificent Nadiža valley offers the possibility of trips of different difficulty levels and duration, raging from relaxing trekkings along the river to shorter cross-country trips. Our specialty is single or multiple-day riding trips into the mountains, spend-ing the nights in mountain huts or in tents.

TIME TRAVEL ELECTRIC BIKE ADVENTURE Group historical adventure and an elegant way to overcome the challenging Brda hills without major effort. 12 different cycling routes over the endless hills full of vineyards and orchards where views reach Friulia plain, Veneto and all the way to the sea. POWERHOUSE ROCK Participants build their own concert hall, including the stage, video audio and lighting equip-ment, select their favourite rock songs and shine on stage like the real rock stars. ESKIMO ADVENTURE The adventure begins with snowshoeing where a guide takes you across the slopes to the igloo village. On arrival at the igloo village you will be served with the Eskimo drink and a snack – Carnolian Sausage with horseradish. After the refreshments we will give you a tour of the igloo village. To make the adventure a perfect event, you will leave the igloo village on snowshoes.

ALPE ADRIA TRAIL HIKING EXPERIENCEOur hike takes us past the romantic Virje waterfall to the magical world of Narnia ( Princ Caspian ): The Bovec Valley. Near the majestic Boka waterfall, hundreds of cubic metres of water dash deep into the valley from a height of 106 metres. Then we follow the emerald green River Soča, on which keen canoeists and rafters take it in turns to tackle the rapids, around the Polovnik Mountain. After a slight ascent we reach the mountain village of Drežnica, below the Krn Mountain.

9:00 Meeting at SRC Labrca. You will be welcomed on the banks of glorious Soča river with local cold cuts and welcome drink.

10:00 Departure to Žaga village.

11:00 Zip line adventure. The guides will put you in harnesses and tell you some basics. Then you will start an adventure with sliding on a steal rope crossing canyons 150 meters beneath you.

14:00 Refreshment with fruits on the Soča river shore.

14:30 White water rafting. This will be a nice refreshment on the rapids of Soča river. One and a half hour descend will be lot of fun and full of beautiful scenery.

16:30 Snack on the Trnovo hanging bridge. Unique experience above the Soča rapids.

17:30 Departure to SRC Labrca.

19:00 Dinner at SRC Labrca.

SUP IN SOČA VALLEYContinuing the trend of looking for new and exciting ways to play on the river we’ve started a new activity, SUP. This sport is an ancient form of surfing and offers new ways of playing on water, from surfing river waves, to running rapids. For a more relaxing experience we organise SUP on lakes Raibl and Most na Soči and on Soča river

KAYAKING ON SOČA RIVERNowadays it presents one of the most popular whitewater sports. The four main sub-categories of whitewater kayaking are river-running, playboating, slalom and creeking. The Soča River with its tributaries offers a variety of difficulty levels, ideal for learning and improving techniques in all categories. Alpin Action offers instructional courses and guided descents in all categories and skill levels. Alpin Action Center in Trnovo ob Soči, Slovenia, is first and foremost a kayak school offering comprehensive kayaking lessons and instruction.

BELLYAK ON SOČA RIVERBellyak is a boardsport, also known as riverboarding or whitewater sledging. You are prone on the board with fins on your feet for propulsion and steering, ready to face the beautiful rapids of the Soča River. Some people find hydrospeed to be the most extreme of all our river activities as there is only a board between you and the river’s rapids, waves and rocks. And besides, you only need an adventurous spirit. No special knowledge is required.

ADVENTURE PARK AT THE BUKOVNICA LAKE The adventure park is located in an amazing forest at the Bukovnica Lake. The park offers 58 different elements, some of which are unique, and 3 difficulty levels: orange (“beginners”), green (“adrenaline seekers”) and blue (“adrenaline junkies”).

CYCLING Cycling on the forest trails of Iški Vintgar! Most of the trail runs through forests of Mokerc – Krim mountains and the extreme edges of the Bloke plateau. On the way we drive through the beau-tiful and remote villages, which are located on the top of canions of Iška and Zala rivers. RE-CYCLE EVENT Here are a few examples of our experiences: Creating new bicycles from old ones, which were useless and abandoned. Constructing promotional and sales booths from different kinds of old materials under the watchful eye of an architect. Building big sledges from old skis and other used materials, which is the most popular theme in winter time. At the end we use new sledges for organizing a funny sledding competition. Re-cycle Event is a socially responsible project, where participants gain various new knowledge.

SHEPHERDS OF THE VELIKA PLANINA MOUNTAINSurrounded by beautifully preserved shepherds’ cottages you will get to know the roles of the shepherd and their families, from taking care of the animals, to grazing, preparing a shepherds feast to getting to know the use of herbs and four legged inhabitants of Velika planina.

MARINE ECO CHALLENGEYou will, through a fun and interesting content, experience fish feeding, shell planting and shell collecting. The bravest will be able to see the bottom of the sea with plenty of marine animals on it. You will catch fish and shells and later on an experienced cook will guide you through preparing the meal yourselves.

FEED THE KINGS OF THE STREETIn cooperation with social worker you will take care of the whole process of food preparation from its source to delivery. After the preparation of a cooking plan you will start preparing dishes with an emphasis on healthy food under the guidance of a cooks. CHEESING IN BOHINJ Explore the history of cheese production in Alpine region of Slovenia called Bohinj and taste the specialties of different kinds of cheese by enjoying in completely adapted tours. BAKING POTICA, A TRADITIONAL SLOVENIAN CAKEUnder the guidance of Grand hotel Union chef Janez Dolšak, who heads the Slovenian national cooks’ team, participants learn to bake the potica. This traditional cake, found in almost every home during all major holidays, is prepared with a variety of fillings, the walnut one being among the favourites. The first task is to prepare the dough and the filling, which takes 1.5 hours. About the same time is needed for the dough to rise, during which participants have time at leisure. In the last hour, the cake is placed in a traditional ceramic mould and then into a pre-heated oven.
