Highly-efficient combined cycle power plants Siemens provided engineering, procurement and construction of two 700 MW gas-fired combined cycle power plants (CCPP) built at Chana 1 and Bangpakong 5 for the state utility, Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT). In addition, two 800MW CCPP’s were successfully completed at Chana 2 and Wangnoi 4 in 2014.

A trusted partner for Small Power Producers (SPP) Siemens implemented 10 projects out of 14 for Thailand’s Small Power Plant (SPP) phase 2 program. Gulf JP and Amata B. Grimm Power awarded Siemens with 20 units of gas turbines and long term service agreements.

Clean Energy Siemens supplied 90 wind turbines, the largest order in South East Asia to date, for the Korat 1 and 2 wind farm projects in Nakorn Ratchasima province. The wind farms have a total combined capacity of 207MW.

Enhancing power transmission Siemens installed a 230 KV Nakorn Phanom substation to receive the electrical power from Electricite du Laos (EDL) to EGAT’s power grid; and a 230 kV and 69 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) located at Chid lom Terminal station in the heart of Bangkok for the Metropolitan Electricity Authority.

Improving Thailand’s power system reliability and efficiency 14 distribution substations have been equipped with Siemens 8DA10 – the 24kV Gas-Insulated Switchgear and the Substation Automation Systems on IEC61850 topology protocol for the power distribution utility of Thailand’s capital city’s Renovation Phase 1-3 projects.

Variable speed drives Kaset Thai International Sugar Plc, one of Thailand’s top three sugar plants, upgraded its sugar mill with a complete package of Siemens Integrated Drives System (IDS) for electric motor, gear unit and Variable Speed Drive (VSD).

Excellence Service Industry service was awarded big orders for the supply of a complete spare rotor and two main motor stators, in addition to the complete rotor rewinding from Siam Yamato Steel Co., Ltd.

Process Automation Siam City Cement Public Co. Ltd, one of the biggest cement producers in Thailand, awarded Siemens with a contract to replace its process control system with Siemens PCS 7 apart from medium voltage motor and drives for Kiln 5 and 6 at Siam City Cement Factory 3 plant.

Mobilizing Bangkok Supplied an additional 35C- Cars for the BTS Skytrain’s train extension project to serve the growing demand of passengers on the Sukhumvit line following the opening of the On Nut Bearing extension. We have been awarded a 10 year maintenance contract to provide reliable rail services following the completion of various rail projects in Thailand, such as the maintenance service extension contracts for the BTS skytrain and MRTA subway metro line for 15 and 10 years respectively. .

Enhancing Healthcare Siemens installed the Magnetom Aera 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system with top imaging quality at leading hospitals such as the Siriraj Hospital (Hybrid MRI), Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, and Bumrungrad International Hospital . Equipped Chulalongkorn Hospital with the Magnetom Espree PINK, the world’s first MRI scanner that specializes in breast examinations.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Siemens launched a library program, “Widen the Little World”, in 2001 to provide books and learning material to needy rural schools in the provinces. The company has also been support-ing the “Nanmeebooks Bookshelves Project”, which provides book-shelves and illustrative science books to primary schools in rural areas.

Since 2009, Siemens has also been supporting the “Little Scientist House” project, an ini-tiative started by the Foundation of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The initiative’s objective is to promote early exposure to science for pre-school children.

In addition, Siemens staff volunteers and customers have been jointly participating in the company’s mangrove and tree planting activity every year, to help restore ecological balance as well as reduce global warming.
