Luke 16:1-13 Prudent decisiveness that this gospel recommends means that we recognize that all our choices in daily living are really choices for eternal life. We honestly try to live good lives. When op-portunities present themselves to act in a Christian way, most of us respond appropriately most of the time. This gospel challenges us to take this one step further. With an eye to the future, we must surrender ourselves to searching out opportunities to live the paschal mystery. There is such an urgency about discipleship that we cannot be passive in any way. Just as Jesus did all he needed to do to make his message known, so must we be as proactive in our own discipleship.

Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Women of Mary will resume on October 19. We gather at the Parish Center at 8:30 am to pray the Rosary together, followed by goodies of coffee and light refreshments. There is always a guest speaker or some offered teaching/learning opportunity . The focus is fellowship, support as Sisters of Christ and the chance to grow in our faith. Plus it is just plain fun!! You don't need to be a parishioner of St Pius X to join, only interested in quieting yourself in prayer, perhaps making a friend or two and having time for reflection. Please consider joining, trying it out....and bring a friend!! If you have any questions, please call Karen at 870-4503. We are usually done our gathering between 10 and 10:30.
