INDULGE

Hangzhou is a convenient 50-minute high-

speed train ride (up to 300 km/h) from the

Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. The trip

in October 2011 was ideal as the weather was cool

and sunny. I highly recommend at least an overnight

trip, and the ideal hotel: the Hyatt, strategically

positioned on the northern side of the famed West

Lake. Stroll leisurely along the perimeter of the West

Lake, savour the tranquil ambience, and enjoy the

sights, smells and sounds…
