The test is easy to perform in any laboratory equipped with a thermocycler and simple electrophorec facility. This PCR kit can be used to detect pathogens in clinical, food and environmental samples. This kit is useful for quick and early detecon of typhoid/paratyphoid fever and the source of potenal outbreak. It can also be used for carrier screening among food handlers. In the absence of serotyping facilies, iden�ficaon of Salmonella Typhi and Paratyphi A is possible with this PCR kit. Typhoid and paratyphoid fevers caused by Salmonella Typhi and Paratyphi A continue to pose significant public health problems in many parts of the world. Clinical diagnosis of typhoid and paratyphoid fever is difficult because the signs and symptoms are not unique and overlap with other common febrile illness. Rapid and sensitive laboratory methods are essential for prompt and effective therapy – to reduce serious complications, mortality and carriage state. We have patented specific oligonucleotides to detect these bacteria and developed a simple and rapid PCR assay.
