HAPPY. JUBILANT. PEACEFUL. WARM. These words easily de-

scribe the emotions new parents feel when seeing their newborn for the

very first time. Carry those feelings on and into your nursery room de-

sign with paint when choosing your baby’s room color and design a

nursery room you and your child will enjoy for years!

Beautiful pinks and handsome blues continue to be the number one

choices of new parents when designing their baby’s room, but today’s

savvy parents recognize that their baby’s room can be an extension of

their personal style, while remaining child-like.

Choosing your paint colors. Brights, Whites, Neutrals and Pastels. The

choices are many.

WARM COLORS

Red, Orange and Yellow fall within the warm spectrum on the color

wheel and create a feeling of excitement and fun; they also establish a

sense of welcoming.

Warm colors can make a large room feel more intimate and cozy; how-

In the suburbs of Music City, Nashville, TN our family anxiously

awaits the first dusting of snow. The highs may only reach 44 degrees

brrr...a far cry from the 78 + degree weather we were used to in South-

ern California. All’s good though. We enjoy being outside in the blus-

tery snow flurries – our dog and cat even join in. Sitting fireside, lis-

tening to the crackling logs, taking in the fragrant smell of hickory as

the logs slowly burn in the fireplace is also truly wonderful. I look out

my window watching the trees blow and thoughtfully sit to write, “5

ways to keep your baby warm and stylish this winter.”

Babies and small children aren’t able to communicate when they are

hot or cold so, as parents it is up to us to make sure that they are

dressed appropriately for every kind of weather. So, consider these 5

your little one happy and comfortable.

1. DRESS IN LAYERS

Achieve the popular two-fer look by layering a long sleeve tee un-

derneath a short sleeve tee. By doing this you achieve the popular two-

fer look using clothes your child already owns.

Layer dresses and skirts over favorite knit leggings, baby legwarmers

or jeans and add a long sleeve turtleneck underneath anything with

short sleeves. This is a great way to get more wear from dresses and

skirts that have been outgrown and are otherwise destined for the hand-

me-down pile.
