Parish Informative Booklet
We have only heard from a few of you so far! We would like to hear from more groups. The plan is to develop an
informational booklet descripting the various organizations,
committees, and ministries offered in our parish. Each grouping
within our parish is asked to write a short description of their group
stating why they exist and what their goals are. Once the booklet is completed it will be made available in the
church and parish center. It will also be given to new parishioners. Submissions should be directed to Jo-Ann
in the parish office. If you have any questions, please contact Jo-Ann or Fr. Ray. Please call or email the office for a sample description to help you get started in writing
your group information.
Religious Education Volunteer Opportunities We are in need of volunteers. The success of our religious
education program depends on the dedicated individuals in our parish willing to share their time, talents and faith with our parish
children. The Mission of a Catechist is such an important one. It is a
mission that has been given to the whole Church. A Catechist must be
at least 18 years old, a practicing Catholic who has a love for children and/or teens and the desire
to grow in faith. Virtus training and background check are mandated by our Archdiocese. Teacher training and support is
available to all our Catechists. Please call Jeanne at 860.747.6825 for additional information. Faith Formation fee
for families of Catechists are waived as a small token of appreciation for your efforts to share our faith with our parish children. We want to thank all of those parishioners who have come forward and have offered to teach next year!

Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima June, when the roses are in bloom… Tt was in 1531 that the
Mother of God appeared to Juan Diego in Tepeyac Hill in Mexico and performed "the miracle of the roses" as proof to
Bishop Zumarraga of her presence. Roses never grew on that rocky terrain, and certainly not in December. Moreover, when, in their surprise, the bishop's attendants tried to pick and take some
of them from his tilma, they could not do so because they became, as one author put it, "not roses that they touched, but as if they were painted or embroidered." Indeed, they were "mystical roses" from the hands of the Mystical
Rose herself. The Litany of Loreto lists
many of her titles, but there is a flower amongst them; the
Mystical Rose. Truly, the rose is the queen of all the flowers, and there is something in the Heavenly arrangement of Its petals and Its coloring, there Is
something In Its scent and symmetry, In the modesty of its green leaves, which makes it very special. It is the flower which captures
the heart at nearly every stage of its growth, even when a bud. While It grows, Its petals gradually unfold as a token, as It
were, of the blossoming of the lover's love for his loved one. Mary, the most beautiful of God's creation, is indeed "the
Incarnate Rose," especially chosen for God's garden. She is the "rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys" [Song 2:1]. There is no
rose comparable to her and she has made Paradise ever so much more beautiful.
But if you call her a rose, white is the color of her purity; gold, the tint of her royalty; red, the hue of her suffering. The rose grows out
from a stem of thorns and in the heart of this flower, the red of the Cross of her son was forming. Indeed, without thorns a rose is not a rose, and without the thorn of great suffering, Mary could not
have become the Mystical Rose of God's Paradise…it is a beautiful month to receive the statue of Our Lady into your home
for a period of one week. A sign-up sheet is found in the church near the ambo with ideas as to how to welcome Mary into your
home. Taken from: http://www.catholictradition.org/Mary/rosa-mystica.htm
Next Sunday… is the Solemnity of the Most Holy
Body and Blood of Christ, also known in Latin as Corpus Christi.
In our parish a Eucharistic procession through the church will follow the 10:30am Mass. The procession will end with
Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Please plan to join us.

Father’s Day… Can hold many emotions for both men and women. Those who had a loving father that passed away, those who never knew
their dad, those expectantly waiting to become a dad soon, and countless other situations
surrounding the father – child relationship can stir up many different emotions. God can use this special day to draw us closer to Himself.
He is the one true Father who remains faithful and full of unconditional love for all of us.
THANK YOU!! As of June 10th, more than 30,000 generous donors have
pledged over $8,000,000 to the 2019 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, Sharing the Joy of the Gospel for
Generations!! Together, we can and do make a profound difference in the lives of many individuals and families, in a way that exceeds anything we could hope to achieve on our own. Thank you to all from OLM who
have donated so generously!
Today we Celebrate Trinity Sunday Perhaps the deepest, the most profound of all mysteries is the mystery of the Trinity. The Church teaches us that although there is only one God, yet somehow, there are three Persons in God. Even though the Three Persons are one God, yet they are distinct for the Father
has no origin. He came from no one. The Son is
begotten. He comes from the Father alone.
The Holy Spirit proceeds from both the Father and the Son.
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity: Loved,
Forgiven & Empowered,
The Actions of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
For many years I have encouraged people, young
and old, to join me in a brief daily meditation which can
transform our lives. I first heard about this meditation
over 20 years ago when I attended a seminar given by Fr.
Joh Fullenbach. I don’t know if he is the origin of the
meditation, or just promoted it. The meditation is simply
to focus on three thoughts: First God loves me with an unconditional love. I must realize that I am loved and
do with him.
The three meditations are really Trinitarian: they each
express the action of one of the persons of the
lovable. Second, God forgives me, I must forgive
myself. And third, God is with me. Whatever I do; I can
Blessed Trinity. We are loved. We are forgiven. We are
empowered.
We are loved. The Father loves us. God loves us.
Sometimes we focus on the view of God the Father as the
Awesome One, the El Shaddai, the Creator. We envision
him as the powerful old man with the beard creating the
world and Adam
on the ceiling of
the Sistine
Chapel. That is
all valid. But He
is also the Divine
Lover. John 3:16: He so loved the world as to give us His only
Son. His Son told us to call God Abba, Daddy
really. Our God loves us as a parent loves his or her
children, unconditionally. He loves us for whom we are.
Good parents don’t love their children for what they do,
although they are often proud of them. Good parents
love their children for whom they are, their children. We
are sons and daughters of God. We are loved.
He, the Father, sent us the One who saved us. We
believe in God the Son. We believe in Jesus Christ. We
make the sign of the cross as an affirmation that Jesus
saved us by being crucified for us. We believe that God’s
love for us is so intense that the Second Person of the
Blessed Trinity became one of us while remaining One
with the Father. Jesus Christ is our Lord and
Savior. Perhaps we use that term Savior too
freely. Perhaps it has lost its meaning for us. Without
Jesus Christ we would be in the grips of hatred, sin and
death. With Jesus Christ, we are engulfed in love and
life. When we
say “He frees us
from sin,” we
mean that he
frees us from the
misery that makes
existence
intolerable. With
Jesus Christ, there
is no situation in
life that cannot lead us to his peace and happiness. Jesus
Christ is the One who brought the Forgiveness of God to
the world. God forgives us, not just as a people, but as
individuals. We have to forgive ourselves. No matter
what we have done, we have to let go of our guilt and trust
in God. We have no right to refuse to forgive
ourselves. We are not more powerful than God.
The Word became one of us, Christmas. He died for us,
Good Friday. He conquered death and restored eternal
life for us, Easter. He ascended to the Father, but His
Spirit and the Spirit of the Father, the Holy Spirit, was
given to us on Pentecost and remains with each of us. We
each have the Presence and
Power of God within us. We
can make God Present to
others. We believe in the
God who empowers us. We
believe in the Holy Spirit.
We can do all things in Him
who strengthens us, as Paul
stated in Philippians 4:13. And so we begin our prayers
in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit. We begin our prayers in the name of the Father
who loves us unconditionally, and of the Son who made
this love concrete by becoming one of us and dying for us
and bringing God’s forgiveness to us, and the name of the
Holy Spirit, who is God dwelling within us, empowering
us. The sign of the cross is an affirmation of our faith. It
is a declaration of whom we are: people God loves,
forgives and empowers.
As we grow in the knowledge that God loves us, as
we experience His Love more and more in our lives, we
are transformed by His Love. We want nothing more
than to nurture this Love. We want to spread this Love.
When we recognize that God forgives us, we
realize that His Love is infinitely greater than our sins. We
need to stop beating ourselves up and let His forgiveness
into our lives. So many people in the world, so many of
us, give up on life because we have given up on
ourselves. When that happens we get into a downward
cycle. We continue to do things that lead to spiritual
disaster because we think God will not forgive us. Jesus
Christ is our Savior, He saves us from ourselves. He
forgives us. He calls us to spread the Good News, the
Gospel to others. He challenges us to let all know that if
they are committed to God, He will forgive them also.
He gives us the Power to lead others to Christ. Every one
of us has a unique ability to reflect God’s love in the
world. Every one of us is capable of instilling the seed of
God’s love in others. We can change other people. We
can lead them from a
meaningless life to a life of
eternal fulfillment. We have
the Power of God within
us. We possess the Holy
Spirit.
And so we begin and end our
prayers with a statement of
whom we are and what we
are about. We are people
who are loved, forgiven and
empowered. We find our meaning in life in the name of
the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
