In motion is an enthusiastic community wide initiative to live, work and play in a
healthy and active Riverview.
In motion’s 30-30-30 solution details a shared responsibility for making sure
everyone gets 90 minutes of physical activity every day (and more is better!).
Here’s how it works: all three sectors (the home, school/work and community) are
encouraged to share the responsibility for providing 30 minutes of physical
activity in their sector.
Parents and caregivers can provide 30 minutes of physical activity for their
family at home.
Schools/Workplaces can include 30 minutes of physical activity in the
classroom/office during school/work.
Community, sport, and recreation organizations can build their programming
on 30 minutes of physical activity for everyone.
If every person in Riverview attended school/work, participated in a community
program and lived in a home that assumed their responsibility of the 30-30-30
solution, then every person would enjoy at least 90 minutes of physical activity
daily, which by the way meets Canada’s National Guidelines.
Over the 10 days of Winter Carnival, we have several activities
lined up for you to get off the couch and get MOVING!! All
activities that have the “30 minutes in the community” circle
logo next to the event description in
this brochure are officially in motion.

Fathered by a quick-witted Canadian diplomat, Rebecca Kohler has made her home all over the world. From Brazil to Thailand, Rebecca learned that the one thing that tied people together was their love of laughter – and pointing at her. After moving to Montreal, Rebecca took the stage for the first time and was met with great success. The laughter remained, but the pointing (mostly) stopped. Working very hard to establish herself as more than just a run of the mill female stand-up, Rebecca became one of the defining voices of the Montreal scene. Working professionally as a comedian since 1994 and as a national touring headliner since 1996, Chuck Byrn has the experience and knowledge to ensure your show or event is a success. Having performed in almost every conceivable circumstance, chuck adjusts his performance to suit the situation. Be it a formal awards dinner, a casual staff party or a large boisterous group of clients in from out of town... Chuck will put on a show suitable to the situation. From the start comedian Mark Forward was a breakout talent. He was a finalist for the Phil Hartman Award for Best Up & Coming Stand-up and Yuk Yuk's Funniest New Comic in the year 2000. He kept on winning. He won the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Stand-up Newcomer in 2005 and the Homegrown Comic Competition at his first appearance at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal in 2006. He starred in his own stand-up special Comedy Now! on CTV and The Comedy Network. He has made guest appearances on a number of television shows.
