Gamma Rays are on the short wavelength part of the EM spectrum

Characteristics of Gamma Rays

Wavelength: less than 1 mm (millimeter)

Frequency: 1019 (10,000,000,000,000,000,000)

Energy used: very high amounts of radiation given off- so much that it can cause explosions in space

Examples of Gamma Rays

Treat cancer cells- kills off cells with radiation

Given off during nuclear explosions Black holes/Star explosions
