Career Objective

To use the experience, skills and university education to progress in

construction industry to become a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Achievements

I have worked in the Built Environment for over 20 years, my experience

extends from architecturally designed homes through to the heavy

industrial/mining sector. From new construction of large commercial buildings

to the maintenance of 5 star hotels during the Sydney Olympics I have led and

been part of teams that have consistently delivered the required outcomes.

My experience as an Electrical Supervisor on D & C projects enforced the

holistic approach to understanding all facets of the construction industry to

ensure the teams I led had a thorough understanding of the construction

process. This enabled the successful installation of works with minimal

negative interaction with other trades and stakeholders. Understanding the

construction process is a key element to project success and empowered me to

gain further knowledge and skills. The last 4 years has seen the development of

my formal qualifications by successfully completing Open Foundation to gain

acceptance into the University of Newcastle where I am studying Construction

Management. Attached is my degree transcript.

Consulting on Dispute Resolution and Project Management

I currently have 2 projects in mediation and preparing a feasibility study for an

investor. I am also completing my Thesis on Trust in the Construction Industry.

I have also just completed a Shop Fit Out for Zonix Constructions at Warringah Mall.

This included Structural Steel shopfront and glazing. As this was Sheike (Client)

flagship store there was detailed interaction with the client to obtain and

maintain the design intent for the store. As with all sites I manage, I was

responsible for the implementation of Zonix’s Work Health and Safety Policy,

achieving compliance with Scentre Group’s WHS and Induction Processes.

February – March

Health Habitat

In conjunction with the University of Newcastle I attended the Health Habitat

Intensive Design Studio in Bhattendra Nepal. The studio’s objective was to

implement earthquake resistant design to village houses. In conjunction with local

tradesman, work was implemented to determine the feasibility and cost analysis

of the proposed design. I authored a report to Health Habitat from a Construction

Management Perspective which included the Construction Method. The report

was part of my degree and I attained a HD for the submission.

2014

Project Manager

Zonix Construction (Academy Dream P/L)

August 2014 – December 2014 (5 months)

Extension to Woolworths Camden. Demolition of existing pedestrian ramp.

Construction of new entry and facade to incorporate escalators and passenger

lift. Store was fully operational during contract works. Construction was

hampered by wet weather after completion of detailed earthworks resulting in

22 days EOT. Contracted works were delivered 14 days after contract time.

Escalation of work program enabled a saving of 8 days EOT. Set out for bulk

earthworks and detailed earthworks for lift and escalator pits.

Woolworths Minto Deli Refurbishment. Complete new deli to existing store. Store

was fully operational during contract works. Zero incidents. Delivered in

contracted time

New storeroom and refurbishment to Woolworths Petrol Prestons. This outlet is

the busiest petrol station in NSW. Completely operational during contracted
