• Students are to arrive at school timeously and should be at the examination venue

10 minutes before the start of the examination. Latecomers will not be granted extra

time to complete any examinations.

• Students are to ensure that they report to the correct venue and are to wait outside

the examination venue until called to be seated by the invigilator.

• A doctor’s certificate must be handed in to Ms Maher if a student is absent from an examination, otherwise a “zero” will be given. The examination will still need to be written on the student’s return to school.

• Students must wear full school uniform for all examinations, including practicals.

Offenders will be brought down to Ms Maher at the end of the examination to receive

a debit.

• School bags must be placed in the student’s locker or in a designated place in the

examination venue. Students may not have any books, notes, ipads, ipods, apple

watches or other electronic devices with them during the examination.

• Cell phones must be clearly labelled with the owner’s name, switched off (not on

silent) and placed on the teacher’s desk.

• No eating or drinking is allowed in the examination venue. Students are permitted

to have a transparent bottle of unflavoured, still water.

• Stationery must be placed in a transparent container or plastic bag and no borrowing

will be allowed. Cell phones may not be used as calculators. Scientific, non-

programmable calculators may only be used if specified in the examination

instructions. Memories of calculators must be cleared.

• No “tippex” may be used on answer scripts.

• No communication (verbal or non-verbal) is allowed between students during the

examination.

• Students are not to ask the invigilator any questions during the examination. Any

concerns can be addressed with the examiner after paper and will considered in

marking.

• No student will be permitted to leave the examination venue prior to the end of the

examination. • Toilet visits are strongly discouraged. Students should make use of the toilet before

the start of the examinations. Should a student use the bathroom during the

examination, they will be accompanied by a staff member, where possible, and the

invigilator will record the time on the student’s answer script and sign it.

• Prior to the start of the examination there will be 10 minutes reading time. No writing

or highlighting can be done during reading time.

• Invigilators will record the start and end time of the examination on the board. Students will be given a verbal warning by the invigilator 5 minutes before the end of the examination. Students will not be dismissed before the full time allocated for the examination is up.

• Answer sheets, examination papers and any rough-work paper will be taken in at

the end of the examination session.

• Students may not read a book once they have finished writing.

• Students must move quickly and quietly away from the examination venue when

they are dismissed, as other examinations may still be in progress.

• Students may have one or two examination sessions per day. They should be

collected from school when they have finished their examinations.
