CLASS Iissued 36 - 48 hours before the occurrence of gusts of 120 km/hr.

CLASS IIissued, as far as practicable, 12 hours of daylight before the occurrence of gusts of 120 km/hr.

CLASS IIIissued , as far as practicable, 6 hours of daylight before the advent of 120 km/hr gusts.

CLASS IVissued when gusts of 120 km/hr have been recorded and are expected to continue.

TERMINATIONThere is no longer any risk of gusts exceeding 120 km/hr.

and 2 outside (one in July and one in October)

� 2016-2017 was a late season with first named system in February 2017 .

� Was a potential threat to Agalega� Twelve special communiqué were issued to

inform the public of the impending dangers� 72 Residents from the South Island of Agalega

evacuated to the Emergency Centre in the NorthIsland.

� Agalega affected mainly by high seas emanatingfrom FANTALA

� Named by the Mauritius MeteorologicalServices on 04 February@1200 UTC inconsultation with RSMC-La Reunion.

� CARLOS affected Mauritius and cyclonewarnings were issued as follows:◦ CLASS I Warning issued on 04@1215 UTC (24 hours)

◦ CLASS II Warning issued on 05@1215 UTC (42 hours)

◦ No warning on 07@0615 UTC

� Closest distance: about 110 km off the northnorthwest coast of Mauritius

� Lowest MSL pressure recorded:1005.1hPa on06@2200 UTC
