Today is Baby Seven Billions birthday.e population controllers and the planned parenthood types believe we would be better o if she
had never been born.
ey are wrong. As our numbers have grown, our prosperity has soared; by nearly every measure ofwell-being, life has been getting dramatically better.
In 1960 there were only three billion of us, and per capita income worldwide was a mere $1500.
Today, as we pass the 7 billion mark, per capita income has soared to $9,000.
While the population bomb is a myth, there has been a real explosion in health and longevity:
As late as the 19th century, four out of every 10 children died before reaching age ve. Todayunder-ve mortality is under 6 percent and falling.
Two hundred years ago, human life expectancy was under 30 years. Today it is 69 years andclimbing. As people live longer, naturally there are more of us around at any given time.
World food and resource production has never been higher; enough grain is produced for everyperson on earth to consume 3,500 calories daily.
ere is no need for anyone to starve in the midst of this plenty.
e human race has never been so well o.
e real threat is not overpopulation, but underpopulation:
e populations of the developed nations today are static or declining. Europe and Japan areprojected to lose half their population by 2100.
Eighty countries suer from below-replacement fertilitydened as less than 2.1 children perwoman.
Even in the developing world family size has shrunk, from around 5 children per woman in 1960to fewer than 3 today. And the decl ine continues.
Baby Seven Billion,Welcome.

Baby Seven Billion is not a liability, but an asset.
Not a curse, but a blessing.
For all of us.
Let us join together in celebrating the birth of Baby Seven Billion. He or she is a sign of our future, our hope and our prosperity. Peopleare our greatest resource. Everyone, rich or poor, is a uniquecreation with something priceless to oer to the rest of us.
Once the population of the world peaksin 2040 acccording to the UN's "lowvariant projection"it will then begin to decline. Yet the population controllerscontinue to frighten people (and raise money) by telling them that too many babiesare being born to poor people. is is tantamount to saying that only the wealthyshould be allowed to have children, and is a new form of global racism.
e population of the world is already aging, leading to closing schools, falling real estateand stock prices, and moribund economies. ink Greece.
