Catherine Chiao Regina Bruce

The Dallas Museum of Art League is adding something brand new! Catherine Chiao and Regina Bruce are heading up our new social media committee, focusing on what’s happening with the League and the Museum.

Strictly an amateur arts lover, Catherine has always enjoyed discussing the techniques, meaning, and beauty of the visual and performing arts alike. A few years ago, this love led her to start a blog chronicling her engagement with the Dallas Arts scene, writing critiques of the shows she attended. Though the blog lapsed, she is reviving it to report on happenings within the Dallas arts community, with a particular eye toward getting people excited about all that the DMAL has to offer. Check out the blog at https://artsfanaticblog.wordpress.com/.

Thanks to Regina Bruce the League now has its own Facebook Group Page to share news articles, updates, event information, and pictures, etc. with our members and other invited guests who would like to learn more about the important work we are doing to support the arts and our treasured Museum in Dallas. In order to view the DMA League Facebook Group Page, you will need a personal Facebook account. There is no charge for this service. If you have not done so previously, please follow the instructions below to create a personal Facebook Page.

To create a Page:

1. Go to facebook.com/pages/create.

2. Click to choose a Page type.

3. Fill out the required information.

4. Click Continue and follow the on-screen instructions.

After your personal Facebook Page is set up, search DMA League to find our new Facebook Group Page. When you locate it, enter your email address to ask to join the group. Upon acceptance by the DMA League Facebook Group Page Administrator chosen by the Dallas Museum of Art and/or the DMA League, you will be able to access all the posts, pictures, etc. on the DMA League Facebook Group Page.

We are excited to offer this new social media platform to our membership and to be able to share information and pictures with you on a much more timely basis. We hope each of you will be excited also and take advantage of this opportunity. If you have any questions or need any assistance setting up your personal Facebook Page or accessing the DMA League Facebook Group Page, please contact Regina Bruce at 214.415.4915.

Tablescapes

The Dallas Museum of Art League is sponsoring a table at the 2019 Kappa Kappa Gamma Tablescapes. Kappa is celebrating 25 years of presenting this special event. This is the first time that the DMA League has been invited to participate. We hope to promote membership to our League and Art in Bloom 2020.

The DMA League Tablescape is being coordinated by Carol Resnick, Board Member of the League and Elle Cole of Elle Cole Interiors. Sue Flynn,

Katherine Phillips, and Sarah Jo Hardin will be on the committee to help bring their vision a reality. If you are planning to attend either Candlelight or the Luncheon, please stop by the DMA League table to say hello!

Kappa Tablescapes is a two-day charity event sponsored by the Dallas Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma. It brings together Dallas' finest designers, florists, and retailers who create magnificent and imaginative table decorations to help raise funds to benefit a group of non-profit agencies carefully selected each year. The annual event includes an elegant candlelight evening cocktail reception for 1000 guests to mingle and view the beautifully decorated tables. On the following day our special guest, a lifestyle guru, entertaining expert or interior designer, inspires guests with a presentation at the luncheon and offers a book signing, and guests enjoy dining at the designers' incredible table creations.

Creating floral designs for the Museum begins early every Monday and Thursday morning with a trip to the American Agroproducts Flower Market where we choose from an infinite number of freshly cut flowers and greenery and take them to the DMA to assemble our arrangements and produce magical enchantment.
