Dollars in millions(Unaudited)

Net income excluding amortization of intangible assets is a non-GAAP financial measure as defined by SEC Regulation G. We define net income excluding amortizationof intangible assets as net income adjusted to remove the after-tax effect of amortization of acquired intangible assets. We consider net income excluding amortization of intangible assets an important measure of our financial performance. Amortization of acquired intangible assets is excluded because management does not believe it isindicative of underlying business performance. Net income excluding amortization of intangible assets should be considered in addition to, rather than as a substitute for,GAAP net income.
