5. QUALITY CONTROL

Oz Geos (OG) practices an efficient management system suitable for the Geotechnical Engineering consulting services provided to its Clients. OG has its policies, work methodology (Method Statements), quality control and quality assurance protocols well documented and controlled. The procedure as applicable to carry out or supervise drilling, sampling, in-situ testing, borehole logging and reporting have been prepared and implemented in practise. The forms used for the above mentioned activities contains all the relevant details to ensure traceability, reliability and follow the company’s standard operating procedure. The forms have been well communicated, trained and educated amongst the employees, which in turn proves that they are well understood and followed. The company’s business functionality protocol is communicated to all the new employees through induction procedure which covers introduction to the OG’s quality management system, adherence to relevant standard and safe work practise. The policies and protocols as implemented by OG is to take care Customer’s reliability, confidentiality and ownership over the information relevant to their particular project. The tests, site works and reporting is based on Australian Standards or as per Client/Project specific requirement which can be British Standard, American Standard for Testing Material or American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. All the employees have defined job description, skill matrix, responsibility matrix and authority matrix to follow. The employee performance is monitored by the management through pre-defined procedure to ensure the workability, reliability, efficiency and effectiveness of all its employees.

Health, Safety and Environmental Policy Oz Geos is committed to preventing accidents and cases of work-related ill health of any of its resources, including employees and physical assets and providing adequate control of health and safety risks arising from work activities.

In fulfilling this commitment, management provides and maintains a safe and healthy work environment, consistent with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Regulations for Construction Projects and any other applicable legislation. We will strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards which may result in property damage, accidents or personal injury / illness.

Actions to achieve this commitment involve:

• Adequate training is provided to employees to ensure their competency to do their work. All employees will perform their jobs properly in accordance with established procedures and safe work practices at all times.

• Consultation with employees about health and safety conditions is in practice. Risk assessments are communicated to all employees to their full awareness and necessary actions.

• Extensive experience of geotechnical engineering that is allied with many principal sectors of civil engineering has been gained over a period in excess of 35 years. This has involved desk study, investigation, design, construction and related independent advisory services. Experience has been accumulated on wide ranging project work throughout UK, Middle East, India and South-East Asia.

• Practicing as a geotechnical advisor and consultant has led to considerable involvement with reservoir engineering projects, slope and coastal stability plus significant experience of piling and ground anchoring works. Frequently this work has been concerned with the preparation of technical reports and expert opinion in connection with claims adjudication, insurance loss adjusting, arbitration, and as a prelude to litigation.
