“No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel,
inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment”
Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 5
“Amnesty International has also documented numerous cases of
police abuses in the context of anti-austerity demonstrations
in Spain, Romania, Italy …
and especially
GREECE in recent years”
Torture and ill-treatment and Europe’s borders
“In recent years, Amnesty
International has documented
numerous abuses, including
dangerous push-backs of migrants
and refugees across the European
Union’s external borders…
…particularly along the
Greece-Turkey border and
across Spain’s land- borders with
Morocco. These often involve
credible allegations of beatings
and degrading treatment”

Localization of the campaign
With the objective of achieving a shock imagery in order to awaken
the Greek public & Raise awareness of the issue
The recent outburst & suspiciousness against all NGOs in Greece
because some of them were involved in economic scandals
The sensitive matter of police violence and corruption
We do not want to cause another riot
The Relationship between Greece and Turkey
Problematic customary of the International Law in the Aegean area
But ALSO the importance of promoting the issue, which affects our
society
we propose a different approach
Virtual reality Chair >> An empty chair will be placed in a central square or
street those who will sit on it will see through virtual reality what it feels like to be
tortured. Those who will pass by the chair will see the person’s reaction and
become curious to understand what is happening.
Theatrical representation of torture >> In a central square we will put up a
street theater play with scenes of torture. Some might be disturbed by this
scenes and others will not react until they find out the shocking number of
people that actually live the exact same scenes.

We propose a live demonstration with different actions in central places around Athens,
Patra, Lesvos, Samos, Orestiada etc
in order to underline the importance of the subject
examples
For the public good
For justice
To inspire
To offer
To show the right way
To make a difference
If all these values represent your agency then..
just go for it!
