Designed to express visual movement, datum, and circulation, and to push the limits of weight and balance. Each model is an extension of the one previous to it, moving from line, plane, volume, an extrusion of that volume, and then an armature that is a combination of each.

Page 7: Portfolio Spring 2015

The goal of this project was to have around 50 identical models that fit into and interlocked to form a screen wall of multiple configurations. This shows how the repetition of a simple shape can transform into something completely different.

These models are part of a series, designed to convey the idea of a stacked arch dome. Each iteration is defined by an array or crossing and stacking arched members that rotate at each tier to create a dome.

This was a semester long project in which I was to design a public library to fit into an existing site in Clifton, Cincinnati, Ohio. I was given limitations and restrictions to follow and was free to design whatever I saw as a best fit for the site. My library was designed to emphasize the sight out of the front, south facing wall. Circulation, openness, and minimalism are also key elements to my design.

On the left is a project I worked on over Co-op in which I had my own client and worked one on one with them to achieve the design that best suited their business. The others are projects that I either worked on by myself and/or worked on in a group.

Page 17: Portfolio Spring 2015

An open field in Mount Airy Park was the location for this project. This was an urban forestry lumber mill with spaces for a shop, offices, lecture halls, and a living area all on site. It was designed to play with daylighting and to force views in and out of the building. The angled, perforated panels change the way a space’s atmosphere in perceived.

Page 19: Portfolio Spring 2015

For this project, I diagrammed the Lindner Center building on University of Cincinnati’s campus. I then took measurements of an interior area and hand drafted plans and section cuts. From here I made a model and an abstracted drawing emphasizing circulation and movement of this space.
