Location 1I am waiting for the other pictures, sorry
I wanted to shoot outside, because in France I was not able to book a studio, and the natural lighting is better that what I could do inside with a flash and some lights. I chose my place because I have a wide and open space in my garden which is perfect to shoot three people.I was not worried about the foreground for the close -ups, that I will change and edit with photoshop.

In college, I had the chance to book a studio. Thanks to the almost professional equipement that I could use, I can add to my project some proper pictures, clean, which look like professional shoots and which make the models look beautiful.
Location 2I did not take the pictures of the studio yet, but I will next week, sorry about that.

Of
MODELS
During half term, I went to France. There, I looked for some models on Facebook via my status. I did the same when I come back to England. I received some answers and choose people that I thought would have the best and the most suitable look for my project. I did not know any real band, so I decided to create one with my French friends just for the media project and to shoot two other English friends and myself for an individual singer and a girls duet.
Translation : “ hey, I am in France for one week and I need some “models” for a media project. It would be modelling for a indie/rock music magazine with a suitable look. You know how to contact me ( private messages or texts) thank you guys !

FRENCH BAND
the only girl in the band : the singer/guitarist
Beth DittoAvril Lavigne
As the two rock female figures shown in magazines, leopard skin and vest are symbols of the rock attitude for women.
Leopard connotes a wild side and unopressed attitude , it is wearing by girls who show themselves as free and independant.
The vest, which is clearly a male clothe, show the willing to not follow the established rules and how they think that nothing can be reserved to a genre.
Pete Doherty
Finally the skinny jeans are fashionable clothes which are wearing by a lot of rock artists in music magazine, women and men. They also are a way for the audience to indentify with their favorite celebrities, as they are wearing the same clothes ( and not high fasion clothes which are really expensive). They are part of the rock genre.
Drummer
Noel Gallangher Kurt Cobain
Printed tee shirt and leither jacket are the basic clothes to show a rebel attitude. The printed tee shirt, instead of a shirt, highlights the willing to not want to look like the basic working class man and show a fun and young state of mind. The leither jacket is also associated with a rock’nd roll attitude, since the sex pistols and other seventies english rock/punk bands and brung it into fashion.
Drum sticks indicate to the audience the function of the boy in the band, make people aware of who he is (the drummer is often the less known in the band).
Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy)
This type of hat is used to add a cool and casual attitude. I just wanted to show the drummer as a normal teenager, whom young people, my target audience, can indentify with.
Electronic pianist : the man who loves modify the music
The Military Jacket, which was before reserved to high fashion, since 2010, was commercialised by a lot of young and popular brands (H&M, Topshop...) for men and women. Fetish jacket of Coldplay’s members, it is now not only wearing by fashion young people, but also by indie/ rock people who want to follow the look of their favourite band’s artists.
Bob Dylan
Justice
The headphones are the prop stereotype of the DJs. They become really fashion lately and are wearing but many teenagers. If a member of a band is wearing it, the audience would automatically think that he is the member who modifies the music, adds some effects and plays with the instruments. It was what the impression that i wanted to create, and it still follows my desire to make people indentify with this band’s artists
The Ray-Ban’s Wayferer also became really popular three/four years ago. Forgotten after they were the favourite glasses of rock bands and artists in the seventies/eighties), they came back. Nowadays, these glasses are the most rock’n roll prop that I could find. They symbolise the old rock generation and the new one.
Red hair are in the music world a punk/rock connation. Born with the punk genre (Sex pistols and its singer), it is nowadays used to shown a rebel attitude, as it was in the seventies, and a willing to break the codes about beauty and attractive female.
Gwen Stefani
Black nail polish, really popular in girls nowadays, in these photos was used to make the personality of the singer darker and so more rebel and suitable with the rock genre.
Hayley Williams
I used red lipstick as the other props. As the red is a color really powerful and which has many strong meanings ( can represent passion, strenght, blood…) it is often with the rock genre, as it highlights perfectly its ideas and values.
