On Wednesday, October 22, at 6:15 pm following our church family dinner, you are cordially invited to aend our FBI Briefing. This seminar will give you an over- view of FBC, our policies, procedures, passions, ministries, and mission oppor- tunies. I would encourage you to come and aend. This class if for long- me members as well as those who are trying to figure out if FBC is the church for them. So please plan to come to learn about our history and more im- portantly--our future! Don't miss this opportunity as we fellowship together. Sunday School Teachers/Leaders There will be a Sunday School Teacher/Leader meeng on Sunday, October 26 @ 4:30pm. Plan to be a part of our meeng as we talk about curriculum, make plans for fellowships, and discuss outreach opportunies designed to reach those who are not currently in Sunday School. Backpack Buddy items for October: Individual-size cups of pasta, macaroni & cheese, chicken & dumplings, etc. October 12 is World Hunger Sunday. In observance of this, our church is col-lecting food for Hale Community Ministries’ Food Pantry. Please place your donated food items on the front steps of the Sanctuary. Items always needed are cereal, canned meats, and biscuit/corn muffin mixes. Prayer Shawl Group meets Monday, October 13, 6:00PM in the Parlor. Open Heart WOM meets Thursday, October 16, 10:00AM in the Parlor. Mission Seekers meets Thursday, October 16, 6:30PM in the Fellowship Hall. This meeting will be an Operation Christmas Child “Pack a Box” party. Bring shoebox items. No dinner for this meeting. Angel Tree Sign-ups are October 20 and 21 from 9-3 at the Armory. Nursing Home Visitation will be Tuesday, October 21, at Hermitage. Meet in the church parking lot at 5:30. The Children-In-Action will be taking a field trip to Hale Community Ministries on Wednesday, October 29. A signed parental note is needed. Remember to pick up your Operation Christmas Child shoebox during the month of October. Boxes will be collected in November. If you would like to help with OCC shoebox packing in December in Boone, see Vickie Ford. The Associational WMU will sponsor a Christmas Party/Backpack Give Away for HCM on December 8 at Hunter Memorial Baptist. If you can help with refresh-ments or plan a game, see Susan Gardner.

It’s time to begin plans for Treat Street and LOTS OF CANDY is needed! Treat Street is Friday, October 31, from 3:30-5:00. We need lots of volunteers! Baskets will be available at the entrances to drop off your candy.

Wedding Shower for Becca Lynn Taylor and Phillip Ray Garland (son of Junior & Sheryl Garland) on Sunday, October 5, from 2-4 in the Parlor. Becca & Phillip are registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target and TJ Maxx. Directory photo make up days are Tuesday, October 7, and Wednesday, October 8. Call Donna Whittemore at 213-9404 to sign up.

The fellowship meal and evening service have been can-celed for Wednesday, October 8.

Senior’s Outing on the Lake Friday, October 10. Leave the parking at 10AM for a pontoon boat ride and dinner at the Captain’s Table. Cold drinks fur-nished. Bring your jacket and a snack if you wish.
