Dear Parents Tēnā koutou, kia ora koutou katoa Parents may not be aware that we gather as a school each Monday morning to start the new week together. At these assemblies, each teacher takes it in turn to present thoughts and ideas on the Key Competency focus for the term. This Monday, Lynda Bayne shared ‘I Grow in Grandad’s Garden’. Outram Playcentre – 50 year anniversary coming up The Outram Playcentre has a 50 year anniversary coming up. They are looking for information about the playcentre from past playcentre parents as far back as they can go. Maybe someone is still in the community that was here when it started or knows how to contact these people. Any old photos etc would be great too. Maybe you would like to be on the organising committee. If you can help with any of these things please contact: Jaclyn on 4862 807 or cell 027 4039697 or email: [email protected]. We would love to hear from you. Thank you.

Lost Toys Please check your childs bag for any toys that may not belong to them. There has been a few misplaced recently from our junior rooms.

William joined Outram School, from Otautau, as a Year 6 in 2016 and quickly made friends with his Year 6 group. William plays club rugby and was a member of the 2017 Year 7 and 8 Sassenachs tournament team. William will play in the League 9s later this month. When asked about the best parts of last year, William said he really enjoyed being a Year 7, loved the CAPES Days out and described the Stewart Island Camp as ‘amazing’. William has provided past leadership in guitar and plays alongside Sam at our Friday assemblies. William has been asked to play guitar with Kapa Haka this year.

William is a member of the 2018 Student Council, is the Pukeko Blue House Leader and an Allen Centre Leader. As Allen Centre Leader, William is heavily involved in the mechanics shed and will also support guitar tuition. William is considering Taieri College as his Year 9 school for 2019.
