The Kingdom of God

“We tend to think of a kingdom as a place. But for Jesus and for Paul it almost never has that meaning. Rather it means the reign or the rule of God. The kingdom of God is God’s reign, not realm; and it is His saving, redeeming, sanctifying reign bringing about the hallowing of his name and the joyful doing of his will.”John Piper

The Kingdom of God

But he (Jesus) said, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.”Luke 4:43

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. Romans 14:17-18

The Kingdom of God

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”Matthew 13:44

My fellow prisoner Aristarchus sends you his greetings, as does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas. … Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and they have proved a comfort to me.Collosians 4:10-11

The Kingdom of God
