INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godpar-ents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.

SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, chil-dren over the age of 7 will need catechetical preparation through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will participate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.

MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony. ANOINTING OF THE SICK Please contact the parish office. RECONCILIATION A priest is available for Confessions on Saturday afternoon from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. You can also make an individual appointment. FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK Dear Parishioners, The Epiphany is the Solemnity that we celebrate this Sunday. It is rich in imagery as it tells the story of the journey of the Magi who were searching for the new-born King and found him in Jesus Christ, our Lord. The experience of a journey is familiar to everyone. We now are beginning the second week of the year 2017. Each year we make a trip through time. We the church celebrate the Epiphany because we know God wanted the Magi to find him in their time and God wants the world to find him now in our time. We can see the importance of the example of the Magi who took their time and made the effort to search diligently for Jesus. As we begin our journey in the calendar year of 2017, I thank all the parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima for being supportive in so many ways to our parish. Particularly, I thank you for the gene- rous pledges that were made to the Generations of Faith Campaign that we began last year. Your pledges exceeded the goal given to us of $490,000 and were a statement of support for maintai- ning the church and our outreach to the youth of the parish in the future. It was also a statement of care for the retired priests who served our church in the past. Let us pray that over the next 4 years everyone completes the pledges they made. The gift of each parishioner’s faith, time, talent and treasure are all necessary to help the church continue on the journey we need to make toward the Lord.

Queridos Feligreses:

La Epifanía es la solemnidad que celebramos este domingo. Es rica en imágenes, ya que narra la historia del viaje de los Magos que estaban buscando al Rey recién nacido y lo encontraron en Jesucristo, nuestro Señor. La experiencia de un viaje es familiar para todos. Ahora estamos comenzando la segunda semana del año 2017. Cada año hacemos un viaje a través del tiempo. Nosotros la iglesia celebramos la Epifanía porque sabemos que Dios quería que los Reyes Magos lo encontraran en su tiempo y Dios quiere que el mundo lo encuentre ahora en nuestro tiempo. Podemos ver la importancia del ejemplo de los Magos que se tomaron su tiempo y se esforzaron por buscar diligentemente a Jesús. Al comenzar nuestro viaje en el año calendario de 2017, agradezco a todos los feligreses de Nuestra Señora de Fátima por apoyar de muchas maneras a nuestra parroquia. Particular- mente, les agradezco sus generosas promesas hechas a la Campaña de Generaciones de Fe que iniciamos el año pasado. Sus promesas excedieron la meta que nos fue dada de $490,000 y fueron una declaración de apoyo para mantener la iglesia y nuestro alcance a la juventud de la parroquia en el futuro. También fue una declaración de cuidado para los sacerdotes jubi- lados que sirvieron a nuestra iglesia en el pasado. Oremos para que durante los próximos 4 años todo el mundo complete las promesas que hicieron. El don de la fe, el tiempo, el talento y el tesoro de cada feligrés son necesarios para ayudar a la iglesia a continuar el camino que necesitamos recorrer hacia el Señor.

Pastoral Institute: Foundations for Ministry Program

Foundations for Ministry Program Are you thinking about volunteering for a parish ministry?
