O ur parish history, as wrien by Francis E. (Brownie) Brown, is full of examples of great sacrifices made with love of the church and the faith, and with love for Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Parishioners in 1950 enlisted the help of strangers to help in the remodeling of a home so that they might have a place to worship in Maryville. Prior to the dedication of the church at Hunt and Wright in Alcoa, parishioners borrowed earth moving equipment to landscape the grounds. “Time and energy were cheerfully given as volunteers painted, sowed grass seed and planted shrubs to add to the beauty of the lovely, red brick church.” More recent parish history includes the variety of hurdles overcome in the “Dream it Possible” campaign. Parishioners persisted to see it through. With respect to this campaign, we are told….”a passage from Hebrews indicates that "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen,” and this certainly was evident as members joyously made their financial commitments.” We are now asked to embark on the Home Campaign. We hope that this campaign, our future, will be wrien with the same “pen of unison” as our history. Our parish history, as written by Francis E. (Brownie) Brown, is full of examples of great sacrifices made with love of the church and the faith, and with love

for Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Parishioners in 1950 enlisted the help of strangers to help in the remodeling of a home so that they might have a place to worship in Maryville. Prior to the dedication of the church at Hunt and Wright in Alcoa, parishioners borrowed earth moving equipment to landscape the grounds. “Time and energy were cheerfully given as volunteers painted, sowed grass seed and planted shrubs to add to the beauty of the lovely, red brick church.”

More recent parish history includes the variety of hurdles overcome in the “Dream it Possible” campaign. Parishioners persisted to see it through. With respect to this campaign, we are told….”a passage from Hebrews indicates that "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen,” and this certainly was evident as members joyously made their financial commitments.”

We are now asked to embark on the Home Campaign. We hope that this campaign, our future, will be written with the same “pen of unison” as our history.

Pay off improvement debt | $130,000Our debt results from several parish improvements and unbudgeted expenses over the last several years. These improvements include repairs made as a result of a short/fire in sanctuary lighting above the altar, replacing the rectory sewer line, increased security, new church HVAC units, and upgrades to the lower level of the Parish Life Center.

Enlarge/remodel Adoration Chapel | $55,000Our Adoration Chapel is now 15 years old and is overdue for some updates. These improvements will also reduce energy expense by allowing us to use the smaller chapel for weekday masses.

Repair sound system in sanctuary | $35,000Our current system is inadequate and sound is not uniformly carried throughout the sanctuary. Our new system will also include video capability so that we might better serve those that cannot attend services.

Add a new music room | $200,000Adding a new music room will allow us to remodel the current music room for additional classrooms/meeting space.

Remodel current music room into additional classrooms | $35,000There is an increased need at the parish for classroom and meeting space. Remodeling the current music room will provide us with 2 new classrooms and 2 new meeting spaces.

Enlarge the kitchen in the social hall | $30,000Remodeling the kitchen will give us more space and allow us to better accommodate new appliances.

Contingencies | $35,000A contingency fund will allow us to meet the above goals while still keeping to our overall budget.

Projects will be completed in the order of priority listed above. No project will commence until all of the monies have been collected and the previous goal(s) has/have been funded.

OUR VISION is to be an active engaged community of Christ's disciples welcoming everyone through evangelization.
