COOKERY DEMONSTRATIONSThe Small Bread Company will be celebrating the opening of their Cookery School during the Oundle Food Festival and will be hosting a series of Cookery Demonstrations both during the Street Market itself and the following week.

The Street Market marks the start of the Oundle Summer Festivals. Two wonderful weeks of music, theatre and fringe events with something on offer to suit every taste.

2-5 JULY Oundle MillOundle Mill will be offering a special Oundle Food Festival lunch menu during the week, which will be priced at £15 for 2 courses and £18 for 3 courses. The menu will be available for lunch on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

7-31 JULYThe Falcon, FotheringhayThe old days return at The Falcon... Sally is delighted that Head Chef Peter Lane is back at The Falcon (having worked with Alan Stewart years ago). Some of the old recipes will be reintroduced and during July Peter will be creating a special Food Festival Menu focussing on local suppliers’ ingredients. The menu will be just £13.50 for two courses and £17.00 for three courses, available Mondays to Fridays - don’t miss out!!

TUESDAY 8 JULYThe Talbot Hotel10.30am Refreshing Summer Treats and Lunch Tickets £20 (includes a £5 donation to Mbequweni Primary School, South Africa in conjunction with Prince William School) from Oundle Box Offi ce.

The head chef of The Talbot, David Simms, will prepare three dishes and explain why he selects particular ingredients to blend together and how the dishes are put together, including live cooking in front of the attendees.

His books Short & Sweet and The Handmade Loaf are kitchen bibles, and he wrote a baking column for 8 years in the Guardian newspaper, long before TV decided we should have a home baking revival. He’s the BBC’s and Sainsbury’s go-to guy for recipes and baking expertise.
