! OAO TEMPLE HAUS CODE OF CONDUCT !

A. Thank you for attending events at the OAO Temple Haus. Please let us know if you have any special needs or requests, and if you have any questions or feel at all uncomfortable for any reason, please make it known to any member of the Coven. We communicate in an open and free, yet compassionate and courteous, manner of dialogue.

B. Please respect everyone’s boundaries: Guests are asked to be mindful toward the boundaries and sensitivities that others may have. Pay attention to signs and signals during communication.

C. No violence is tolerated within the Temple Haus. All disputes or aggressive debates may take place in private, out of doors, such as on the open lawn, patio, at the creek or the fire pit.

D. Guests who are rude may be asked to leave at any time. Clergy & Order members reserve this right.

E. Loud, obnoxious or aggressive behavior will result in overly boisterous guests being publicly asked to tone it down or depart. This includes overpowering others in conversation, or dismissing those who are trying to converse with you, particularly if that person is a group Elder or Coven member. We should all exercise humility in conversation. Please include everyone in conversation who wishes to speak, and respect your Elders with honor, attention and self-accountability.

F. LARPing is not permitted on Temple grounds unless a designated event expressly permits it.

G. Only legal drug use is permitted in or on Temple grounds; this includes tobacco in designated orchard smoking spot (18+), alcohol (21+), and medical marijuana (card-carriers may consume in designated areas only). The use of other mind-altering substances will not be tolerated on Temple grounds. The use is expressly prohibited within this sacred space unless the ceremony decrees it (i.e. tobacco smoking following sweat lodge, etc.)

H. No guests under the age of 18 are permitted without being accompanied by a parent or guardian, or without providing legitimate written parental consent. No exceptions!

I. All guests are asked to plan accordingly; please contribute a $5-10 event fee or arrange volunteer work-trade. If possible, please bring food or drink to share with others. Participate in the events with an open mind. Prearranged transportation costs are $5 to the driver. Attendees who cannot meet these reciprocal requirements, they may be asked to leave, unless a need for charity is expressed or otherwise requested.

J. Unwanted or inappropriate sexual advances will not be tolerated, nor will excessive flirtation. Some rituals require modest dress, while other events may be optionally skyclad (nude). Sexual advances and PDA are discouraged out of group courtesy and social propriety.

K. Blatant violations of physical or emotional boundaries shall result in immediate removal. Slander, breach of confidentiality, theft, defacing property, physical violence and illegal behavior shall result in immediate removal.

L. Please check our lost-and-found if you are missing an item. OAO and its members are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

M. Stealing from the Temple Haus or fellow guests shall result in immediate removal.

N. OAO and its members revoke legal responsibility for any injuries or issues sustained at the Temple Haus. We attempt to offer a safe and comfortable environment for all attendees. We encourage self-accountability and exertion within one’s own limits of capability. Please observe and express your own limits.

O. Convicted sexual offenders must provide a written character reference from their alleged victim or a therapeutic professional, as well as their Parole Officer’s contact information before OAO clergy will permit their attendance.

P. Attendees are asked to respect people of all genders, whether male, female, or hijra. Disrespect based on one’s biological sex, gender identity, orientation, religion, disability, etc., is prejudice and is not permitted.

Q. Please remove your shoes before entering the Temple Haus. This keeps the space clear of clutter and prevents people from bringing in unwanted outside energy. We ask guests to leave their bags and coats in designated places, and shoes in the designated boxes outside.

R. Cell phones and recording devices are not permitted inside the temple haus. Please keep phone and tablets turned off and stowed inside of a pocket, bag or purse that is left in the public entryway.

S. The upstairs and downstairs residential quarters are off limits; we ask that guests respect the private/public division. For your own safety, we ask that guests not enter the kitchen unless they’re helping with cooking or cleanup. Please use the tea window to place orders, or help yourself to the public buffet.

T. For the convenience of all attendees, events are run on a schedule. Please consult each event’s listing or email to stay up-to-date with an event’s start time and presumed end time.

U. Any photography and video taken by the Coven may be used for the purpose of academic documentation, temple records, nonprofit fundraising, group promotion or utilized on social media. We ask that attendees receive permission from OAO and with guests prior to filming or taking photographs. We will always ask permission to photograph you, as well. Occasionally we will also have sociology students, University students or media reporters present at events; their presence will always be made known to the group if and when OAO members are aware of their presence.

V. We ask that guests observe animal sensitivities and boundaries as well as human. Please avoid overly petting, fondling, chasing, or corralling animals that are otherwise non-consenting. We ask that guests be aware that Temple pets are often ‘rescue’ animals and may be particularly sensitive to human interaction.

W. Please be mindful of the space and the mark you leave on it. Pack in, pack out. Fairly Take & Fairly Give.

X. The OAO Temple Haus is a not-for-profit spiritual sanctuary and recognized “religious” organization in the State of Montana. Taking advantage of others will not be tolerated or indulged. Those engaging in such activities will be asked to leave. Additionally, we strive to create a diverse spiritual environment and welcome a variety of worldviews. Please refrain from excessive self-promotion, proselytization or aggressive approaches in opinions or judgments. We encourage all guests to express personal ideas and spiritual views freely while in this shared community space. To respect diversity we must accept and embrace differences; it is okay to disagree while remaining respectful of other diverse viewpoints.

Y. Those who violate the Code of Conduct may be asked to take a “meditation timeout” at the creek, fire pit, or the Tree of 1000 Buddhas. We don’t wish to exclude anyone, and wish to give fair chances to amend discord.

Z. Please remember the cardinal OAO axiom: Have fun, while also being safe & making healthy choices!

All hail another year of Cock-A-Doodling magick; Cast and willfully audited by Fire. We give thanks to our elders and

ancestors, and to the bright spirits of the earth. We honor the Old Ones in deed and name, also offering auspicious blessings of regal poise and motivation to you: our active community. Each and every

guest contributes wonderful energy, new goals and you inspire our Rainbow community events. May the spirits bless and keep you.

Please join us again for more animistic magick as we dance our way around the seasonal wheel celebrating global paganism

throughout the years to come. Our next calendar will be available following the Lunar New Year of 地球狗 Dìqiú gǒu, the Earth Dog, in

2018. Anyone may contact OAO to inquire about our classes and events, or to request to be added to our email list. Please contact temple clergy directly to confirm your membership standing, or to

submit a new membership form.
